Great place for kids to explore the ocean creatures. So much things to find and it keeps the kids entertained while learning. We stayed here for long durations and would keep coming back because we always found something new. Make sure you look at tide weather, best time to come are during low tide. There is lot of parking and public restrooms. But no outside water available to wash feet or hands from all the sand.
Good disabled camping, even in some non disabled sites. Good access to town, cell service works in most of the park.Nice beach walks. Some sea life on beaches if you look for it.
We love staying at Surfwood Campground in Mackerricher State Park. There's so many trails to hike in the area and the beach is a short walk from the campsites. A really great bike path into Fort Bragg makes a wonderful outing.
Beautiful campgrounds with lots of trees and wildlife just a 10 minute walk from the beach. Camp hosts were incredibly kind and accommodating. Facilities were basic, but had hot water. Couldn't fit my medium size cooler in the food storage box. Loved falling asleep to the sound of the waves crashing on the sand.
Love it here so peaceful everything is clean beautiful views within walking distance of the beach
