This campground is fantastic and perfect for families! The front desk staff was friendly and incredibly helpful. We rented a cabin, which was clean, well-equipped (just remember to bring your own linens), and very comfortable. The property itself is beautiful and well-maintained, and we really enjoyed the food from the Cookin' Shack. After our stay, we realized we had left something behind in the cabin. We called, and the staff immediately contacted housekeeping to locate it and even shipped it back to us. We were so grateful for their prompt assistance. We’re definitely looking forward to staying here again!

Dead bugs in the bathroom as if no one ever cleaned the place and that was the best part. The front room of cabin 11 was so off grade and slanted, you had to hold onto a chair to not fall forward. Stairs? Nope. A steep ladder to the bedroom with no bathroom upstairs. The downstairs pull out couch had blood on it and was all coils. Was not sleepable. A cabin? Nope. No pans, no dishes, no stove. Most cabins provide cooking utensils, but not this hell hole. Just. Say. No. God-awful place....

We booked this spot last minute to evacuate from Hurricane Milton. We checked in on 10/8, and left a day early to get back to check on our house. Supposed to check out 10/11, but left on 10/10 for that reason. The pros: -The sunset the night before the storm was beautiful. -The pigeon coop area is very cool. We didn’t get to stay for the pigeon race. -When settled in the second spot, our neighbors on either side were awesome. They were also evacuating their homes from the storm. Very nice people. -It seems they invested in new laundry machines at Primrose (pictured) -A quaint, “fairly” quiet and secluded spot. -When I was helped by two middle aged women at the office counter, both were very pleasant and knew how to handle customers. - the folks at the cookin shack were also nice The cons: -The playground could use some loving/redoing. -The lady who sits in the back left of the office, I think named Debbie, did not give off the same friendly air as the other ladies working the counter. I paid in full online and when I arrived I was handed a coupon code brochure from a resident of the park. I wasn’t demanding to use it but thought I’d ask. The nice counter lady handed it to Debbie who said “I can’t do anything about that because he’s already paid in full”. Maybe a small nuance but she could have addressed me since I was standing right there. “Sir, I’m sorry but since you have paid in full I cannot apply it but feel free to save for next time” or any version of that especially if she is some type of manager (assumption)? Also, when we booked, we picked one site that wasn’t level. She said that was the first time someone complained about that site and she seemed she couldn’t believe it. Maybe so, but it still isn’t level lol. My second site was “more” level. Maybe she just needs a day off 😁 -Because the site I chose wasn’t level, a back in site, I did request a pull through site for my second and third nights. I was up-charged which is technically a rule but if I were in their shoes I probably would’ve absorbed the $10 total extra for the inconvenience. Just if it were me. -I called on Thursday and spoke to a man at the office. No idea his name. I was not expecting a refund of my last night since we were leaving a day early because of the storm, but instead just asked a question. He essentially laughed at me on the phone and was very off putting saying there would be no refunds. Again, no problem, was just asking a question. -One of my neighbors in a class A had a similar experience with being charged incorrectly for one of his passport America nights. But he caught it and they fixed it. - There was also a young couple behind us arguing loudly one afternoon. I didn’t report it but should have. Overall, I think instead of investing in more activities, they should spend money on making the gravel sites more level and also improving the parking lot where you check in. Maybe paving that would be excellent. My neighbor next to me also was complaining about his site not being level. He had to jack his motor home up off the tires to make it level. Nobody wants to feel like they’re sliding downhill. I can see why this is appealing for a secluded place, but because of the attitude of some of the staff, we won’t be back. I’ve worked in customer service my whole life and yes you have bad days, but I felt these were more personality quirks.

Stay out of River Room 11. It has a 3.16% (measured with my digital level) lean on the foundation, in other words. It feels like you're in the hull of a tied-up shrimp boat that is leaning port, not kidding (as a reference). The tower of Pisa leans at 5.5 %! The Couch leans, the table leans, the microwave and toilet lean, and the beds upstairs lean, I left two days early with no refund, Y'all keep it, I'm getting outta here. Lesson learned. The so-called (stairs) to the loft are reminiscent of a WW2 battleship, straight up with no headroom because of the ceiling braces, I'm 6'2" 205 and had to turn sideways and step one foot at a time to get to the loft, (We live in a 2 story house so steps are an everyday occurrence), downstairs bedding is a pull-out couch which was way past worn out, so my wife and I had no choice but to use the beds in the loft. As I said, my dates were Fri 11-29 through Mon 12-1, I was home Sat 11-30 by 4:00.

We planned our trip to stay here for several days but had to make a last minute change to stay only 1 night. After getting settled in and biking around the campground, we really wish we could have kept our original plans! This is a beautiful, well kept campground! The sites are spacious and easily accessible for a large rig. We have a 40’ 5th wheel. The campground is quiet and peaceful. There is a nice peaceful spot to sit in a swing and overlook the river at the back of the tent camping area. Make sure you take advantage of the mobile food vendor. The half pound bacon cheeseburger and home made fries was very good! The front office staff was friendly and helpful to explain all the amenities. Bing your bike and / or the golf cart. I highly recommend this campground and look forward to coming back when we can stay longer!

The Ugly, Bad, and Good! The UGLY #1 We camped in the Key West area. In one of the Doggie fences site. The last two days, our power went out 3 times(that we know of, could have been more). Luckily the last day, it was overcast and rainy so I guess the the campers on our row did draw a lot of amperage. Losing power in the middle of a hot 96° day, is no fun especially when you have doggies. Having to go back and check on my dogs, make sure the AC didn't go out. That was aggravating. Well, at the pool, talking to others, they said the Key West side did this last year during the summer as well. So for that, I will not be back to the Key West area. You pay to much for these sites to have to worry about power on and off. The maintenance guy gave me "it's when someone uses a 30 amp plug in" and "there is just so many people drawing amps right now". So idk what their electric issue is but I will not be back to see if they fixed it. The BAD #1 The bathhouses, they are not air conditioned. So if it's hot, you're taking a steam shower or a steamy #1 or #2. #2. They didn't open the 21+ pool on time. Had to call up there several, several times. The GOOD #1 The Elvis concert they have during Memorial day weekend, they are great. Their grandson, he's amazing. They did Karaoke one night and had a blast. They are definitely a a great perk! Keep them going! #2. Their private spring is awesome. It's nice to have that private spring and access to it. #3. Their pools are nice. Little small, they fill up QUICK! but nice pool area. #4. Laundry room is nice. #5. The lady in the office, Brandy, she is really nice! #6. Nice asphalt paved roads. #7. Real easy check in. They actually encourage you to go ahead and go to your site, get hooked and set up and then come to the office for check in. #8. Nice dog park area. They do have a game room area and little food restaurant, up the road at the office but I didn't partake in any of those amenities. They are close but not in the same area as the campground. Overall, I am going to come back next memorial day weekend. I like this place, I wanna give it another chance and camp on the Primrose side and NOT the Key West side.
