Easy on & off freeway, helpful escort for after hours arrival. Good overnight stop. A little highway noise, but we've stayed in worse. They do not use an online reservation system & they can be hard to get a hold of. Voicebox messaging system was full, and we had to try 3x to get someone to be sure there was a space available, but once we connected, they were great.

Never made it past the front desk. The man in the office was not a people person. He was rude and acted as if he was man we were there. Then he proceeded to ask us if we’d be sleeping in our truck.. we had a ten. My husband asked if they had a restroom and the same man was such a butt about it he didn’t even use the restroom. Just saying if you like being treated like a human find somewhere else!!

It's a mid-sized camp ground, and it's definitely been around for years. With that said, the accommodations are decent & the pricing on point. There's a lot of long-term campers, and RVs, here. The residents are quiet & respectful. The management seems to be responsive, as is the maintenance staff. I'm well satisfied. *** I've been at the Swamp Fox for about 4 months while working in the area. The staff has been very accommodating. Allowing me to keep both my personal vehicles on-site, and occasionally parking work-related trailers & equipment overnight due to odd travel schedules. All & all, very reasonable folks. ***

The camp ground is small. Nothing fancy. Our spot had alot of standing water due to rain. Bath houses are cool and spacious. Good service. Close to everything. Need transportation to get to the beach. Worth staying if you love this part of the outerbanks.

All slips are pull-thru, full hookups with 30 or 50 amp. Gravel and grass and mostly level. Did not use facilities and CATV outlet on pedestal didn’t work but didn’t matter since AT&T had full bars and screaming through put! Staff is very friendly and while location is super convenient- right off I-95 - it also means that if you don’t have A/C or TV on, road noise is very audible. At $50/night, it’s a perfect one-night stand stopover!
