Customer Reviews
Pretty well kept place. The camp sites are pretty large, each with a picnic table which is covered. Easy to get to, no big vehicles needed. Can get to this place in a sedan. There is a vault toilet available which was pretty clean for a vault toilet. The sites are spaced out so you are not too close to each other. It is a first come first served location. But for FREE it is worth the drive. Lots of hiking trails nearby, and maps are provided on-site at the info station by the toilet. This is a good little spot.
Probably the prettiest free campground I've ever been too. They have pit toilets in a really nice building. They have lots of campsites but there was only one other person there when I rolled in late. Close to pinnacles np. They have a donation location so I donated cause it was so nice. Each spot has room for at least two or three cars, a picnic table and a shelter and a fire ring. I wouldn't start a fire here cause I literally drove through a wildfire on my way like 50 miles away and there were so many trucks and planes trying to put it out.
The drive to get to the campground is long and winding but the road is paved although a little rough. We got there around 1:30pm on a Friday in June and we had the whole place to ourselves! From what I could tell, there’s about 8 spots. After the sun went down around 8pm there were 3 others who showed up. Like another reviewer said, I felt lucky to get a spot, this is such a great campground. Absolutely no cell service so don’t expect to get work done. Did not use the toilets so I can’t comment, but they are there.
If you are visiting Pinnacles, unless you absolutely have to stay in the park do yourself a favor and camp here. Large sites with covered tables and fire rings, scenic, and quiet! Truly a hidden gem, so glad we chose to stay here.
Got there in the dark which wasn’t a great idea, but the whole place seemed super sketchy and unsafe. Pit toilet had about 30 flies in it so couldn’t use it, and wasps were so bad in the morning we left at 8am. It IS free though… I’m sure if you had a camper van and not a tent it would be just fine.
6 available spots, no hook ups, vault toilet and quiet. 28 miles from Pinnacles NP east entrance. Mostly car campers but can accommodate RVs
Amazing campground. Very quiet with lots of space between sites.
No service! Gorgeous views! Great trails
