Sweetwater Events Complex Campground is a fantastic choice for campers seeking a serene and affordable experience in Rock Springs, Wyoming. Nestled in the beautiful landscape of western Wyoming, this campground provides a perfect blend of nature and convenience, making it an ideal destination for outdoor enthusiasts, families, and travelers alike.

One of the standout features of Sweetwater Events Complex Campground is its affordability. With rates starting at less than $20 per night when hookups are not required, it offers one of the most budget-friendly camping options in the area. The campground accommodates both tent campers and RVs, with a variety of sites available to suit different needs. For those traveling with larger rigs, there are sites equipped with electrical hookups, water, and sewer connections.

The campground is known for its clean restrooms, which are well-maintained and provide essential facilities for all guests. The friendly and helpful caretaker adds a personal touch, making the camping experience feel more like a community gathering. With 120 sites available, including pull-through spots, campers can enjoy plenty of space to set up their rigs without feeling cramped.

Sweetwater Events Complex Campground is also close to the livestock entrance, which provides easy access to the caretaker’s house and campsites. This proximity ensures that guests have a sense of security and convenience while staying at the campground.

  • Quiet Environment: Many campers appreciate the peaceful atmosphere, with only about 10 other campers during their stays. This allows for a more secluded and enjoyable camping experience.

  • Friendly Staff: The caretaker is known for being particularly helpful and kind, adding a welcoming touch to the camping experience.

However, there are a few things to keep in mind when planning your stay. For example, winter availability can be limited, with only about 40-50 sites open during colder months. Additionally, some guests have noted that the placement of utilities may require careful consideration, especially for longer rigs. It’s advisable to bring an extra-long cord or plan accordingly if you’re staying with a larger vehicle.

It was quiet. Clean restrooms. The caretaker was a really sweet lady.” Another visitor highlighted the ample space available for spreading out, noting that there were only about 10 other campers during their stay.

While some guests have experienced challenges with utility placement and winter availability, these issues are relatively minor compared to the overall positive experience. The campground’s location in Rock Springs also provides easy access to a variety of local attractions and outdoor activities.

Less than $20 a night if you don’t need hookups. It was quiet. Clean restrooms. The caretaker was a really sweet lady. When I stayed there was only about 10 other campers … tons of sites to spread out. Livestock entrance was closest to the caretaker’s house and campsites.

Very limited spots in the winter!! We went thinking we’d have room to stretch out away from others since they have 1200 sites. Unfortunately they close most of them for the winter - there were about 40:50 available and half of those were in a sloped area. Others have mentioned the odd placement of the utilities…they weren’t kidding. We were not able to connect to power with our 50 ft cord because our rig is so long and we couldn’t back in any farther.

Reasonable pricing, we have 38' class A with tow dolly, paid $43.22 for a night. Place looks new, clean bathrooms, showers. They don't have pull thrus, but we were able to park in one space sideways on a end spot.

Very accessible to utilities. It would be nice if there was some grass. There is a nice place to take the dogs and let them run.
