I recently visited this location with a friend - both of us coming from Southern California to explore this beautiful part of the country for the first time. We arrived on Saturday, September 4th and camped over night before heading out the next morning for the Five Point Lake area. We thoroughly enjoyed the hike, the surrounding basin and all of the fishing it had to offer. Moreover, it was the first time we had been on a week long trip like this where we didn’t see a single person during the whole trip - it was as if we were the only people left on earth. I really can’t say enough great things about this place; however , when we returned on Thursday, September 9th, we found that while we were gone that my truck had been severely vandalized - see attached photos. Needless to say, it was a real disappointment coming down from such a great trip up in the wilderness. I’m not going to let this spoil my trip; however, I am rating this place with 4 stars and sharing my experience as a warning to those who leave their vehicles unattended, since it will be at your own risk - especially those visiting from California, which I believe that is what possessed someone to do this to my vehicle and not other vehicles around me with Utah license plates.
The campground would have been awesome if it wasn't for all the cows! Nice secluded area with a nice background noise of the running creek. But there were roaming cows and cow pies EVERYWHERE. We had to set our tent up on the driveway, and even that had some poo on it. I hope the campground can work with the ranchers and get the cow problem solved!
Went on a hike into the High Uintas. Not as busy as other trailheads. I would recommend this hike for sure. This trip we took the Yellowstone fork not the Swift creek fork. Very beautiful and not that difficult of a hike.
Cows were the best part! If the cows weren't here it would be a fire hazard for all the tall, dry grass. Carry on ranchers, Carry on.
Nice and shady, river is loud, but pleasant.
Love this place been going to it all my life. First time I was 8 years old. Lots of memories.
