As part of a large crowd of camping families, I love the very peaceful and natural surroundings. Very grounding. They offer showers, restrooms and port-a-potties, bbq's and fire pits, with electrical outlets and water faucets at camp sites. Clean, quiet, and serene. The staff are unobtrusive, but available. Reasonably priced for overnight use and day use is free. Swim, fish, look for wildlife or bike on the many trails throughout the park. Something for any nature lover... Also, the gas station down the road is a perk too, just in case you forgot something;)
The caretaker is an amazing and friendly man. Came by a couple minutes after I arrived to greet me, suggest a spot for my tent, and to see if I needed any assistance. Was a fun weekend and I will definitely be coming back many times in the future I'm sure!
My husband and I love this place ,Jan the camp Host is absolutely the best he always comes around in his little cart and checks on us to make sure everything is ok, which is great, I love to go to the day use area during the day and sit and watch the wildlife, they come down for drinks and it is very peaceful there.
This place is beautiful. It has a separate day use area away from the overnight camping area. The bathrooms are clean and include showers, and have been redone after the flood. As for water access, in the day use area there is everything from a small trickling brook, to a small, slow moving river that is somewhat warm in the shallows and a bit colder in the deeper parts. It has a ramp where you can launch canoes and other small water craft. From there it's a short walk to the fast moving, and very cold, Yuba River where the scenery is breathtaking. There is a wide open area for groups to gather, as the Cherokee do anually, a pavilion, and plenty of woods to explore. Near the river is a covered area with plenty of tables that can be reserved for parties. There are also many other tables and benches scattered around the area for singles or single families. One thing Sycamore Ranch is not short on is wild animals. From birds such as; Heron, Raven, Turkeys, and Vultures; to woodland creatures like Squirrels; to Frogs, Fish, and many others. You will enjoy catching site of each one. The overnight camping side has many large sites with plenty of trees for shade. There is a larger launching area here that goes straight into the Yuba River. I go to this place as often as I can and, since the day use area is free and open from 1/2 hour after sunrise to 1/2 hour before sunset, that is often! I hope you come join me in the beauty of this natural wonder, and please help me keep it clean for us all to enjoy.
Love this place but they raised the rates and are adding more camping sites so that equals crowded it was a good size campground very well kept showers coin operated code needed for that and restrooms on site host bridge to cross creek with path to park up the road that has disc golf course. Yuba river very near by and fishing.also beautiful day use area no fee picnic tables gazebo Portapotties only and not much parking if its crowded day.
