Another fantastic state park campground! Beautiful views, paved sites that are mostly level, dump stations, water, showers with individual heaters, and a nice playground and swings for smaller kiddos! The water is currently off at the campsites but a self-contained camper won't have an issue using the dump stations. Ideal spot for summer camping but beautiful year-round for those brave enough to stay during the Missouri winter.
Nice sp campground with showers, bathrooms, laundry and close to a few trailheads and multiple restaurants. People drive around too fast, especially employees.
I spent a quick night at this campsite, arriving at sunset. I unfortunately cannot say much about the services as I only utilized electric and filled my tank up with the water. There was sewage I just didn’t require it on a short stay. The sites are paved and fairly level. Mine was easy to back into, the last in a roundabout. It was a fairly busy campground but everyone seemed respectful and quiet hours were adhered too. I didn’t use the showers or their washrooms so I can’t say much about those. I arrived after hours and the camp host diligently stopped by to check me in and provide me my tags. This was really appreciated. Easy to follow the signs to the proper campgrounds. I did get a view of the lake through the trees but again didn’t stick around to check it out.
Reserved our campsite off of the picture they have posted of it on their website when you book. We got here (in September) and it looked like this. The picture is incredibly deceiving. The first one shows it is covered in grass and is large enough to put a tent. In reality, it is the smallest site we have ever seen and covered in rocks, no grass. We were unable to put our dog stake down or our tent stakes. We called to ask for a refund 10 minutes after we had gotten there at 3:45 and were told no because it was past 3pm. The office supervisor came down and said we could put our tent back in the woods (with all the fleas and ticks) and that was his only suggestion for where to put the tent and said he wouldn't gove us a refund even though the pictures were misleading. We packed up and went to another campground. Won't come back here again or recommend it to anyone.
Very quiet and clean. Was very happy with the large campsite. Bathrooms and laundry areas were very well maintained l. Loved that they had a recycling bag right at the campsite.
