WOW! That’s all I can really say. This park is wonderful! We started at the information center which was a whole museum giving the history of the gorge and park overall. The only downside was that I couldn’t bring my dog because of the grated metal steps. I suggest to bring a dog backpack or carrier so your furry friend can enjoy too!
Great hike that takes you to both sides of the falls. The overlooks are nicely separated and provide excellent views. The suspension bridge is a great photo spot. If you are not a hiker, there are rest spots along the trail with seats at the walk down 200 steps is easy, if you walk up either side of the rim it is a good hike. Luckily there are stairs. I think it was $5.00 to get in, definitely worth it.
I loved it!! Now let me just say the way down to the gorge is NOT the easiest but they have other beautiful trails to walk. Nevertheless, the workout was WORTH IT!! Will definitely be coming up here again! :) plus the foggy weather definitely made it all the more beautiful.
Definitely a fun adventure for the family. It has a lot of overlooks, but if you go down where the bridge is it’s wonderful. The hike back up the stairs is definitely a workout and will have your heart rate going. ( difficulty I would give a 6) very gorgeous place to visit! A plus you are only about 30 minutes to Helen, Georgia.
Beautiful Gorge, and LOTS of stairs. The whole park is nothing but stairs. If you do the North Rim and go down into the Gorge and then up to the South Rim, in the South you'll enjoy less steps AND the way back to the visitor center is level. You'll also get a nice photo of the Park Sign by the street on your way back which makes the effort worth it. Great glute workout...lol Feel the burn while taking in some beauty😊
