The lodge's commitment to providing a welcoming environment and exceptional service makes it a favorite among returning visitors.
We stayed for a week in January, my wife , daughter, and myself. We all love the place and will come back in summer. Room was clean, nicely decorated, with fully equipped kitchenette. Location is excellent for the area. X country ski and snowshoe trails start conveniently either from hotel itself or from nearby Tamarack snow park. Plenty of other options. Housekeeper Donna is very helpful and always around.
We arrived two hours before check in and were immediately allowed into our room early by the very friendly Donna. Our room was adorable, clean and warm. Donna let our kids use a little snowball maker she had and even sent them off with goodie bags when we left. The price was great, location was great and overall experience was great. We will definitely be returning.
My Husband, Doug and I enjoyed our stay here. We had hoped for more snow but everything about the Lodge was great! Dawn was super helpful and we will be back.
We come up to China Peak every winter. Tamarack Lodge is perfect location for our family. Price is affordable, and room really big. It has little kitchen and good size refrigerator.
It's in a good location between both lakes, the bedsheets were clean and the room was clean. Didn't smell. Has hot water, lights worked, not too cold or warm (didn't need or see an AC though). It is an extremely dated old motel. The fixtures are old or worn. There is junk strewn across the exterior of the property. The manager lives here, but works at another hotel in Shaver so may not be available. She is nice, but you'll likely just interact over the phone. And the nightly rate is pretty expensive. This place is not a horror story. But it's likely not the vacation spot you're looking for. If money is not an object and you want a clean place to have a hot shower and sleep this is your spot. Otherwise, bite the bullet and invest another hundred or so dollars for a cabin to have a better experience. Or i think the Shave Lake Resort is cheaper. Just manage expectations when booking this place. No frills. Very Old school. I didn't mind it, except for the price ($200), but i had minimal expectations.
