This is a great smaller campground just off the main road. The sites are large and spaced well apart. There is some road noise, so if you can pick a site further in. The host is super involved, and has this campground spotless, including the pit toilets. The indivdual sites are well maintained and clean.
Great campground that has large level spots and gorgeous views. Right off the highway with easy trail access and pit toilets. Our spot #10 had a brand new fire ring with grill plate and a large tent spot. The host was excellent selling firewood at his site.
In the trees. Well marked tent sites. Able to see the stars at night. Quiet. Spot for tent is pebbles, so bring something to lay on. Potable water, firewood, and pit toilets.
Stayed here over Memorial Day weekend. The campground was slightly bustling, but luckily nobody was being obnoxious during our stay. Overall, everything was nice and peaceful. The campsites all seem different in configuration, and ours had a wooden tent platform with rings on the side to tie down and/or guy out your tent. Being in the trees though, the wind was never really much of a problem. The camp host, Tim, was extremely friendly and diligent — he could be seen making the rounds and cleaning up frequently. As such, the vault toilets were always clean. Though it's located pretty close to the highway and you can sometimes hear the road noise, it's also a very convenient location (we dipped into Durango each day). We mostly stayed here because of that convenience, and because other campgrounds were booked up, but we wouldn't mind staying again.
Great campground, I was impressed enough to leave a review. The parking spots are gravel but graded and neat. The tent pads are wide and smooth. The vault toilets were cleaned daily by the friendly campground host. Definitely worth a visit. Attached photos of my site and one nearby.
