Vagamon also known as the 'Scotland of Asia'. National Geographic Traveler has listed Vagamon on their directory of the "50 most attractive places to visit in India". I Visited this Place on last week of june,on afternoon time, it is close to my house, so i went on Public transport, The Lake is Just walkable distance from Bus stop ( less than 800 meters ) The lake is not big one, but variety of boats are there. There is a small foot bridge on which you can seat putting your feet into water and relax. There is benches and it is very close to lake or you can sit on green meadows. The backdrop of the tea plantation gives it added beauty. Advice to people Please don't visit this place during summer. Visit in the morning or evening more attractive. You should reach before 5pm to try out boating. Ticket rate 50 include boating and entry You can eassily spend 2 to 5 Hours. Intresting point is there is a Marsey Ferguson Tractor which was built in 1962 in England and it is exhibited in a shed on the lake side. The adventure activities in the Lake run by Perfect Tense Adventure, the place have a very limited resources still lots of Activities like ATV Ride @ ₹200.00 Water zorb @ ₹100.00, Paintball @ ₹150.00, Archery, Taget Shooting, Tree Jumaring, Burma Bridge., Zipline, climbing wall, Trampolines etc.

Love this place because it's peaceful and relaxing! Glen has already has done alot of clearing the trail's and getting the weeds so you can fish better and trying to thin out the willows, way to many. Love the house! Looks better in real life. Blue REALLY love's it out here. Come and visit, enjoy fishing, trail's to walk and boats to rent. Having meat shoot March 25th . Have activities thru the summer. Watch to see what's going on and when!

A wonderful rustic experience. Would appreciate water and power at the camp sites if we wanted, though.

I wish I had pics, but growing up, I traveled to St. Louis from Texas, every summer, and my Great Uncle Jerry Tarbell (may still have record catches there) would take me fishing and camping for a week. It was the highlight of my summers and some of the fondest childhood memories I still hold dear. My dear uncle passed at 101 yrs old last year, and this place has been on my mind a lot. I actually won a trophy 1 summer for a record catfish I pulled out of there. I'm sure that record has since been broken, but I still have that trophy. It's one of the most beautiful sets of lakes I've ever seen, even to this day. The fishing is outstanding. My uncle used to brag about the 7-8 pound bass he'd pull out of there on the far shore. They had John boats and paddles to rent and hope they still do because this place is calling me back these 25+ years later. I'm thinking of arranging a trip with my wife for her 50th birthday later this summer. My uncle and I would stay a week and camp out, and we always had plenty of legal catches, early in the morning and well into the night. The caretakers, throughout the years, were always the best! Truly "salt of the earth," folks and I doubt that's changed either. I remember the caretaker had a daughter and son who were really fun to hang out with. They taught this city boy how to gig frogs and always knew the best places to see snakes or wildlife. I doubt they're the caretakers anymore, but those memories plus the beauty, the good fishing, and the well-kept grounds made this a PERFECT place to spend summers growing up. I never wanted to leave, and I miss those starry nights where the number of stars appeared like little grains of sand on a velvet black background. Looking it up on Google, makes me want to come spend a week like I used to when I was a kid, and I hope the fishing is just as fantastic as it was 25 years ago. I'm sure they are. Whoever chose the caretakers always did a fantastic job! I can't speak highly enough of Tea Lakes. It will forever be ingrained in my memories. God willing, I'll be visiting soon, again, from Texas....with love and fondness.
