Reality For Writers

Long ago I used to come here to shower two or three times a week, and leave a donation of $5 a week as that was all I could afford. Of course like most local people, I ceased coming here (and ceased volunteering to clean the pools) after a fee was required. I was reminded of this pool house when I read the DESERT SOLILOQUY memoir where there is a chapter about this place. The most recent time I visited here, an employee (or owner) threatened violence against me when I lamented to him that the pool house went from donations to required fee. He would not let me leave until I had "apologized" for telling him that I could no longer afford to shower here.

Had a great time camping and soaking here. The bathhouse has a separate side for men and woman. Unfortunately there were a few creepy dudes in the men's side. One large fellow had some sort of metal contraption on his balls and weiner that seemed very inappropriate for a shared space. If you don't mind ignoring a few creepers then this place is for you. Will be back

My wife and I enjoyed our 1 night stay. Nothing special about the CG. A gravel parking lot with 30amp only. Nice service! We were there in April so it was nearly empty. BUT, the hot springs were a nice bonus and the night sky is filled with stars as there is not much ambient light. We sat out and listened to the coyotes howling!!

I tent camp here often. Chris and his crew do an amazing job to ensure safety, cleanliness and a great hotsprings to soak my troubles away. I highly recommend

I love this place. It's so down to earth and the staff are very welcoming. I feel right at home. Have visited twice and utilized the $10 a day, day pass. Well worth the price!
