The downtow portion of Telegraph Cove is quaint and very sweet. However, I found the campground experience to be the complete opposite. The Forest campground houses many permanent or long term residents which gives a different feel to camping. The managers were lovely and accommodating allowing me to move from my original site however overall I found that the Forest campground wasn’t the type of camping I was looking for. I was originally placed in between a site that had two tarp covered broken down trailers and a camper with a lot of garbage and broken items surrounding. The camper was also covered with a tarp and had a sewer hose dumping waste directly onto the ground. Across from my site was an older RV in which the lights had been left on flashing all day. The manager moved me to the other side of the campground which was kind, the site was small, had full services and a picnic table but still wasn’t what I had initially hoped for when I reserved what I felt was a fairly pricey site. I was looking for a private forest camping experience but was unable to find it at Telegraph Cove’s Forest Campground. I ended up leaving early and was not able to get any of my money refunded as they have a 30 day cancellation policy.

Great campground. Friendly hosts, good atmosphere. Showers are free and warm, but could use a renovation. 5 minute walk to the ocean through small forest, 10 minute walk to telegraph cove.

This was a peaceful campground, preserving the natural feel of the area (i.e., neither overly manicured nor paved). The bathrooms are clean and the showers hot. The campground is a pleasant 10 minute walk to the marina at Telegraph Cove. WiFi at the campground was reasonably priced and good enough. Note: Be sure to login to only one network with each device, because each login is counted as a separate device (described below). We purchased WiFi for 2 devices. I logged on to two of the networks (trying to find the strongest signal at our site) before my partner logged on at all. My two logins used both "device" allowances in spite of being the same device. The proprietor was dubious of my explanation when I tried to get things sorted out. He checked his networks and found two logins but did not (or could not) see both were the same device (e.g., the same MAC address). He eventually gave us access for the second device. I wish he had described the limitations clearly at the start to save us all time and awkward interactions.

Quiet campground with just the right amount of home comforts (hot showers -no charge- , coin laundry, and flush toilets. Small playground and grassy area for the kids in the centre of the main camping area. Most sites had water and power. Heads up to tent campers hoping to plug in - the outlets are RV style and you'll need a converter. Convenient walk into "town" takes about ten mins. Five min walk from far end of site to the quiet beach. 3.5 hour drive from Nanaimo was a lot closer than we had realized and we'll be back!!!

Booked in August,2020. Great location in a woods close to the village, a beach and a view point for whale watching. This campsite is a big place and has residential side which is more wooded area. Beach side is better maintained and sunny spots. I was placed in residential side and was dark, moss growing and by swamp. Worst site I got assigned.
