We stayed in Cabin #23, The Cliff House. It definitely is situated on a cliff, so I would not recommend it for families with young children. The cabin was cozy, beds were clean, and we had mostly everything we needed (including towels). The staff was very responsive when we had questions about the TV or Wifi. The kitchen was stocked with most basic cooking supplies and included a standard refrigerator/freezer, small oven/stove, microwave, and sink. There is no dishwasher. The cabins are rustic and closer together than expected. The beds were just okay. The cabin had a front deck, a side deck, and a back deck. There was a large hole in the yard right in front of the front deck - Looked as though they were in the middle of repairing something. Luckily, we didn't have small children to worry about and we were able to safely navigate around the hole. I give it 3 out of 5 stars because we didn't sleep great on the beds, because of the hole in the front yard, and because the property was cramped with the cabins very close together. Overall, we had a lovely weekend in Lake City!

You’d sure be best served by going someplace else. We woke in the middle of the night cold to the bone as the gas shut off spontaneously. No heat, hot water nor gas for cooking. Wifi signal was weak and not connected to the internet. Little creatures scuttled in the walls all night. The neighbor put a bag of garbage in his truck and a bear tore open the door for the chips. Our dog went nuts warning us. So, sketchy clueless neighbors. Batteries ripped out of smoke detectors. The owner/manager was not on site and unapologetic. Hospitality is not part of his business model.

My husband and I stayed here for one night. The main office was closed and there is complete lack of service. They just unlock the doors and you just have to barge in. The rooms were decent but the bed was absolutely horrible beyond belief. You can tell the owner just doesnt care by reading the previous reviews. We will not be back nor will I ever recomend this place to anyone. They expect you to do a self-service for $200 per night accomodation. As what my husband said; the bed wasn’t even fit for a dog to lay on. Save your $200 and spend it somewhere else in the beautiful town of Lake City.

One star is one too many. We traveled about six hours to get there and had no choice but to stay in the filthy cabin with dirty sheets. We layed our blanket down on top of the hairy sheets and tried to get a little sleep in the very uncomfortable bed in the horrible dusty room with no working tv or doors that locked and waited till someplace opened where we could get some coffee since the coffee carafe was missing. We left early and just went home. our last trip of the summer so disappointing-I had always wanted to visit lake city- so beautiful - we did go and buy some cheap camp chairs so we could sit on the porch. We tried to make the best of it but there was no way we could stay another night there. Our “cabin” porch unlike others, had no place to sit except for a dangerous looking/sounding porch swing. Nothing inside was fit to sit on either so they came in handy. Terrible, filth. Do not go there.

I don’t normally do a ton of reviews, and while the location of the Texan is very convenient to the Alpine Loop; I would not return to this location. We stayed in Cabin 3, and what a goat rodeo it was. Had of they actually put a little effort into the cabin it wouldn’t be a problem. Queen Bed was horrendous, hard as a rock and you feel every spring. Toilet seat was the wrong style. They installed a circle seat on a D shaped toilet. (Guys… your junk will be all over the front of the seat). The shower towels provided were old, and very small. The shower, while manageable is very small, but the location of the shower and the small floor mat renders it useless when the shower curtain doesn’t cover the bottom. The floor will become soaked. Speaking of floor, the cabin has probably never been mopped. Wear sandals, or your feet will be black. Then to top it off, there is a storage cabinet above the fridge that you will hit your head or shoulder on coming out of the bathroom. Maybe it was just our cabin, my buddy stayed in another one and his was considerably nicer. We booked thru Friday and when I woke up Thursday morning I said pack up, not staying here another night.
