This is a great place to take kids. We tent camped and had the best time. The kids played in the splash zone and had a blast trick r treating. They also enjoyed doing a couple of the camp activities and watching the Saturday night movie. A couple of things to note… bring earbuds if you tent camp. It’s close enough to the highway the you will hear cars all night. Also the camp site is very small, you will be very close to your neighbors. Bathroom/ shower facilities are excellent. The bouncy pillow is an injury waiting to happen. We have 3 kids 5 & under, they really wanted to jump on it but there were a lot of bigger kids and after the got knocked over a couple times we skipped it. Even though it was a rule a lot of kids were unsupervised. It would have been nice if there was a designated toddler time or a separate smaller bouncer for little kids. Pic Nick basket food was great, the hours were very limited due to off season camping. We planned to eat there Friday night when we got it but it wasn’t open. The Ranger station does have a good selection of snacks and drinks and extra camping thing if you forget anything. Generally a really good trip, we will be back!
We did not stay the night, but we went during the time the ecplise happened this past summer. We had so much fun in the water area and pool area. They also have large chess, a jumpy area, two food places and a little store. We will definitely be going back. It’s a perfect place for family gatherings. We ordered their pizza, which was perfect for the kiddos. They also have great frozen alcoholic drinks for the adults and frozen slushies for the kiddos.
If you have kids and want to have a fun getaway that not only will the kiddos enjoy but (you are sooo close to so many wineries) this is the perfect place!!! We took our RV there and had a wonderful time. We went on a hay ride around the place, even did a scavenger hunt and my daughter loved it! Several photo ops around the park. Although we went when the water park was closed it was still so much fun. I will include that although the jumping pillow was fun - my husband lost his footing trying to get off of it and slipped when he did he fell on his butt and jammed his tail bone right on the ground - he’s hurting pretty bad. (Only thing I would say is they do have a lot of sticker burs and so trying to keep those out of the camper and out of our feet was hard. Wear your shoes!)
First time camping in our new RV, the service was second to none. After explaining we were new to pulling a large RV they made sure to accommodate us with an easy access RV spot. The next day we watched the Owner come out late at night to help the RV next to us was having electrical issues. The owner figured out the problem with the battery. The RV park is right in the heart of the wine country. We will be back every time we go to pick up our wines from the winery’s.
Extremely nice campground just outside Fredericksburg. There are plenty of organized activities for kids along with many things to do around the park. They have an on site gas station, pool, water park, jump pillow, volleyball court, arcade, billiards area and SO much more.
