Customer Reviews
I would like to respond to the review by Daniel Castro. I’m so very sorry that he was disappointed by his stay at the Bass Pond. I had no idea he was so disgruntled, but would have worked with him, had I known. I had no idea he felt the way he did. When he first arrived, he did sink into the gravel and we moved him to a more stable spot and he did say he was pleased with the new site. We had only been open a few months when he arrived and were still, and still are… a work in progress, making continual improvements as needed. We have no refund policy own all fees paid. During the month of March, when Daniel was a guest, we had daily rain in this area, which meant that the excavators could not get their heavy equipment into the campground to compact the gravel or perform any other work that was needed. I communicate by text each time that work will be done in the Campground, so guests are aware. The Bass Pond was created for those who are traveling and need an overnight stay for the night before resuming their journey the next day. It was not meant for long-term stays, although many have come and loved the hospitality and kindness we show our guests and asked to stay longer. There are no permanent residential sites available. We have been described as a ‘little paradise’, a wonderful spot, a welcoming space, and the perfect stop, just to mention a few. I constantly receive notes of praise and thanks from guests left in the dropbox. I invested my total life’s savings into the Campground and also mortgaged my home, to provide a quality place at a reasonable price. It was professionally excavated, with underground, plumbing and electric by companies who are licensed and bonded. There were many months of planning and thought put into the campground, but nothing was done by simply throwing gravel on the dirt. The septic system designed just for the Campground. Everything was inspected and approved by the local government. The gravel is compacted when added by the excavators. However, it does take time, and if a guest needs to stop overnight, my excavation company works around that, and it may take a day or more to come back as they are working other jobs. The needs of our guests come first. All guests are made aware that there are no amenities other than the water, electric, and septic. It is plainly stated on all descriptions on every website where our campground is listed. There are 2 small cabins on site, that make it tight for longer rigs to pull out when leaving. Therefore, we like to help each guest park, ensuring that it is as easy as possible. When we can, we prefer to park shorter rigs in these sites. We are very ‘hands-on’, customer service oriented, and want to help as much as possible. I also want to address the eviction that was stated. This was in one of the cabins, not an RV guest, who had recently had surgery on his legs, and it was difficult to walk. However, he did drive, the dogs were small, and could be put in the car and driven across the parking lot to the dog walking area that is CLEARLY marked with signs. The dogs were ‘ doing their business’ all over the porch, and it was highly unsanitary, as well as a foul smell. A monthly rental fee is offered for weekly maids service, and one without. This guest chose to opt out of the maid service. Upon the guest’s departure, There was dog feces found on the ceiling fan and walls. The toilet and bathroom were filthy, and the sheets had never been washed or changed, and had to be disposed of. The metal mattress slats on the day bed were bent, as if a heavy weight had been placed on it for a long time. The cabin is about the size of a hotel room… 250 ft.². It took 2 people and 3+ days to clean and co-vid regulation sanitize everything to its original condition, which was brand new, and just opened for rental. No one had stayed in the cabin before this guest.
A very quaint and tranquil place to camp; Missy the camp host was so super sweet. Lots are pull through and level. Follow the directions from them and don’t use GPS. There are no amenities here but beautiful views of nature.
Stayed here for a week while visiting home and renovating one of our properties. The road is a bit narrow and hard to find the turn into the park when it is foggy. If you are in a big rig, a couple of the sites may be hard to get out of due to the red building in front of the sites. We were in a 40-foot fifth wheel and were not able to get close enough to hook up to the sewer on the site we were changed to the day before arriving. When we went to leave, we had to back up to get a better angle to pull out. Another thing to note is that there are dogs that run loose from houses around the park.
I really thought this park was going to be great. I am a pipeliner and often come back to this part of TN to do work. I live on the road 100% and I stay at many parks across the country. The problems I had at this park were so bad I moved out after only staying there a little over 1 week. For starters, the slots are not compacted. They built their park with just throwing gravel on top of dirt. My camper kept sinking more and more every day I was there. Second, their rules only apply to you. They let their (the owner and grounds keeper) dogs run around without leashes while you have to keep your animals on a leash. Third, the grounds keeper is a HUGE Karen! Fourth, they kicked out a disabled veteran for not walking his dogs in the right area(there are no signs detailing the proper area). Pipeliners, linemen, travel nurses, workers, or any RV'ers, please, steer clear of this place. I hate to do this review. I rarely do reviews. I just do not want anyone to go through what I went through and lose out on money like I did. I hope this park does better in the future.
It’s bare bones but all the hookups work, the prices are reasonable and the people running it are lovely! Great stop-over!
As advertised!! Perfect for an overnight stay! The people are awesome the location was excellent and the price was in line with my expectations! We have a 35ft 5th wheel and travel between Florida and Michigan. I wish places like this popped up all over the country for my future travels . This is a way better option than staying at a parking lot or rest area with no hookups!!
