The Cabins at Gulf State Park

We just finished up a week long vacation at the Cabins at Gulf State Park. The layout was perfect for our family of three and two dogs. The staff were very friendly, responsive and helpful during our stay. The cabin was clean and kitchen was well stocked for cooking and grilling. Our dogs loved the screened porch and we enjoyed dining and watching the sun set over Lake Shelby. The free bike share allowed us to explore the miles of trails throughout our stay.

We stayed in cabin 3 on the lake. Beautiful sun rises and sunsets. The cabin had everything we needed, was clean and spacious for 2 people. The bed was very comfy and it was nice and quiet. The only thing I would change would be the motion sensors on the bathroom lights. Other than that we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely return. We have always loved visiting Golf State Park with our fifth wheel, now we can enjoy it in the cabins.

We had an amazing stay in Cabin #8! The view and pier were incredible. We were able to see a Bald Eagle come to shore a couple of days which was an added bonus. We took a bike ride on the free bikes, went to the beach, fished off the ocean pier and cabin pier. The fire pit and grill were fantastic and we cooked more on those than in the Cabin. Staff were very friendly and helpful along the way. The only complaint if you want to call it that was that our floors still seemed dirty when we arrived. Otherwise, the Cabin was clean, comfortable, and had all the necessities.

This was our first stay at the park. In the past we have always stayed on the beach. We have mixed preferences, one is the beach and the other cabins. The Lakeside Cabins filled the bill and way beyond for both. The cabins were very clean and nicely decorated. We extended our stay from a week to 12 days and enjoyed every moment. Amy was our contact from the beginning and was very kind and helpful. As mentioned in other reviews the motion lighting in the bathrooms are a little too intense and the outside lights need a dimmer. Maybe add a scouring sponge to the kitchen for clean ups. We also have gone to Ebikes for our age since they provide both exercise and enjoyment, like being a kid again. The beautiful trails definitely surpassed what we expected. They provide a safe way to ride a bike instead of on a road which can be dangerous. I do think though that riders need to be more courteous. This also pertains just as much to the manual bike riders. Beautiful place, we will definitely be back!

We stayed in Cabin #8 and had an incredible vacation. The cabin was in great shape and had everything we needed. The lake view was beautiful and the newly constructed pier was very enjoyable. We biked, hiked and went to the beach and pool during our stay. Everything was great! We also enjoyed breakfast at the Woodside Restaurant each morning and even went to trivia there on Tuesday night. The food and service there was top notch. The one opportunity for improvement which had been mentioned in an earlier review would be the lighting in and around the cabin. Everything is way TOO BRIGHT! Dimmer switches throughout the cabin and manual switches in the bathrooms versus motion detection would be a welcome upgrades.
