We have no words to describe or experience in this place. You have to see these monsters to understand we're speechless. Even with crowds they use to come to this place, you can find a tiny spot to feel the calm only of the forest can provide, that sense of humility in front of such greatness
At the heart of the park, in the shade of towering sequoias and redwood groves, the Giant Forest is home to half of the Earth's largest and longest-living trees. Named in 1875 by John Muir, the forest is a stand of more than 8,000 colossal sequoia trees - many standing just as Muir found them. Giant Forest in Sequoia National Park is alive with mystery and wonder. We see it all the time - people think they know what to expect here. They come for the massive trees, but just as often, they leave with something much, much bigger.
What an incredible day we had exploring the giant forest. Highly recommend the walk from the museum via the Alta trail to the Sherman tree and then loop back via Congress trail and the Circle Meadow, so many amazing sights and the trees are spectacular.
This is a nice area. I went here and was satisfied with my experience. This is a grove filled with sequoia trees and there are numerous hiking trails that go through these groves. There’s also a visitor center here with exhibits about sequoia trees and a portion of a sequoia trunk. The parking lot for the visitor center here is also surrounded by sequoias. The Bettle Rock trail is a nice quick stroll from the parking lot to a large boulder with great views of nearby mountains. I gave this area five stars because it’s filled with giant sequoias and it has nice hiking trails.
This is such a magical place. It's amazing that everything was perfect for these trees to grow to their fullest potential in this area only. It's humbling to simply stand in their presence and imagine everything they've witnessed and survived in their lifetime.
