The Griffin Ranch

We escaped Hurricane Milton in Tampa Bay and found an awesome place at Griffin Ranch, just outside Ocala. Great host, great cabins, and such a relaxing atmosphere! They really go out of their way to make guests feel welcome. I'd recommend it for a relaxing weekend or a family reunion. The cabins are all different sizes, beautiful, and very rustic. They have full kitchens and outdoor grills. We brought our own food and saved a ton of money. This is rustic Florida at its best.

We had a great stay at Griffin Ranch! Carl was so accommodating with our late arrival, and we were treated with Southern hospitality and baked goods! They made our weekend getaway perfect. We were upgraded to the airstream, and it was so peaceful looking out over the open land in the morning. We hiked some trails on the property and were greeted by horses and cats. The outdoor shower was big, and although the airstream had its own bathroom and shower, the outdoor one was also available. If you're looking for a stay close to the forest with amenities, this is the place!

Griffin Ranch is eclectic. Terri and Carl are very welcoming. I found it in an "Only In Florida" article describing it as a B&B, but it's no longer a B&B. We got a nice basket of goodies and coffee cups. Carl upgraded us to Dad's Cabin, which was lovely, especially the Tiffany lamps! A peacock even flew onto the porch one morning! Bring bubble bath for the claw-foot tubs. The mineral-rich water smells a little funky, but remember, people pay for this kind of "healing water"! It's described as a working ranch, but I was a little disappointed that there wasn't any horse training. I enjoyed feeding the horses carrots and apples though; they are more like pets. They have smart TVs, so bring your Netflix and Amazon passwords. The internet access is very good.

We really appreciate your kindness and friendliness. ❤️ It was a much-needed retreat, and thank you for allowing us to bring all our fur babies. We loved seeing the horses and peacocks. I initially booked the historic cabin, but Carl kindly upgraded us to Carlie’s Cabin for more comfort with our dog. It was so secluded and beautiful, even decorated for Christmas! The property is beautiful, with primitive campgrounds, cabins, and horses. The owners are incredibly kind and made us feel like family. We plan to return as soon as possible and recommend it to anyone looking to get away.
