Goodman is a community in McDonald County, Missouri, offering a quiet, rural setting while remaining accessible to larger towns and attractions in the region. Its proximity to State Route 59 makes it relatively easy to reach by vehicle, whether you're traveling from within Missouri or from neighboring states. For those familiar with the Missouri landscape, Goodman provides a peaceful escape from more bustling urban centers, yet it's not so remote that essential services are out of reach. Potential visitors should be aware that the immediate surroundings are rural, which contributes to the "hide away" aspect of the park's name. As with any rural destination, it's advisable to have clear directions and potentially download maps for offline use before arriving.
Based on general information associated with RV parks and some customer feedback, The Hide Away Spot RV Park & Events aims to provide certain amenities, though their current functionality and upkeep have been subject to mixed reviews. - Laundry Facilities: The establishment has reportedly added laundry rooms.
- Restroom Facilities: In conjunction with laundry facilities, restrooms are a common amenity.
- Wi-Fi Access: Wireless internet connectivity has been an advertised feature, though its reliability has been questioned by some users.

For residents of Missouri, particularly those in the southwestern part of the state, The Hide Away Spot RV Park & Events could serve as a practical option depending on individual needs and expectations. If you are a local RVer looking for a convenient, albeit rustic, place for an overnight stop, or if you require an extended-stay location in a quiet, rural setting, this park might be considered. Its location in Goodman offers a peaceful alternative to more crowded recreational areas.
However, it is crucial for locals to approach this location with realistic expectations, particularly after reviewing customer feedback. For those seeking a highly polished, fully operational, and consistently well-maintained facility with all modern conveniences, it would be prudent to make thorough inquiries beforehand. Conversely, for individuals who prioritize a quiet, low-key environment and are prepared to be adaptable to the conditions described in some reviews, The Hide Away Spot RV Park & Events could fulfill a need for a basic RV parking spot or a long-term base.
The emphasis on long-term stays in some feedback suggests it might be most suitable for locals who are in transition, working in the area, or simply need an affordable, extended parking solution for their RVs. As with any local business, word-of-mouth and direct communication are key. For Missouri locals considering this location, a pre-visit or a detailed phone conversation is highly advisable to ensure it aligns with your specific camping or long-term accommodation requirements. Understanding the operational nature of the park, as described by some customers, will help manage expectations and determine if it truly is the "hide away spot" you are looking for.

Customer Reviews
This place is a dump. We booked 2 nights based off of the reviews on here sight unseen. Once we arrived we just kept on driving. There are many broken down and taped together trailers with pit bulls chained to them.
At first it was ok, we keep to ourselves, didn't cause any issues, but then the lot rent was raised so that they could add a laundry room w/a bathroom, and another small laundry room, and to have wifi...I don't think we have ever been able to use the wifi, and before the bathroom/ laundry room was done, I asked about the up keep of the 2 new buildings and was told " I hope that everyone can clean up after them selves, well.... It's disgusting most the time, the washer doesn't work that well, and the dryer doesn't work. And it's very very dark here, there is no outside lights, no speed limit signs, so children are at risk. Had some issues with the water when one person left, by the time it was over, she blew our water regulator, and the water pump, and now because she didn't fix the electric pole that we are hooked into, it started smoking and blew all our electric, have no idea what's wrong, but I do know that my family is living from an extension cord ran through our window to use for power. But she can get away with it cause if you stay extended, the lease states that she is not reliable for anything. We only stay cause we have no where else to go at the moment. But I do know that we have always paid, never given any problems, and she is disrespectful, and has no problem letting you know any small things that she wants changed, we have tried to offer help, but she has no desire to let us. So the pics I posted is one of the bathroom, not at it's worst, and the one of her driving through after we were told she thought she had the part to fix the electric pole, said she would be back later, and that pic was her driving through several days later, and still hasn't been back. When we first moved in, thought the park was awesome to take my grandson, until boards started coming unattached, so he doesn't play there any more.
I resided there for about a year. It's a nice quiet casual campground with many semi-permanent residences. They allow pets & have a very large area for walking them along with trails for the more adventurous. The have 2 laundry facilities & one shower restroom facility & a playground for the kids .
Good pricing, management is very respectful and accommodating.
We have been staying at The Hideaway Spot long term for about 7 months now and have been very satisfied with our stay. It is family friendly, pet friendly and lots of places to take nature walks. It is conveniently located off MO- I49 and Mo-59 so we can hop onto the interstate to go to Joplin or NWA within 25-30min. The owners are friendly and accommodating as well!
