We have lived at Hideaway for over a year. We have been fulltime RVer's going on 10 years and have been in 16 plus states. This is the worst place we have stayed in. The price is the only reason we haven't moved. They have a automatic renewal clause and locked us in for another year. Throughout our time there we have been without water for over 25 days. The longest at one time was 7 days. With 3 kids it was very unsettling not having water. After that we started holding water onboard. No onsite management, tenants having to constantly alert the owners about the dumpsters being full. Neglecting the roads when they were covered with ice causing unsafe driving conditions. We personally had to find and contact contractors to come in and salt the roads. The second time they froze tenants had to scrap the roads just to be able to get out to get propane. Several sites have large deep ruts and are unsafe to walk on. After talking with contractors who have fixed water lines multiple times, we have found out that no dirt was screened causing the constant breaking of the water pipes. None of the sites were packed down and the rock properly layered causing people's campers to sink over 6 inches. The asphalt is caving in and crumbling, and the owners were told they needed thicker asphalt to be able to handle the weight of the campers 4" to 6" not 2" to 3". I have personally cut multiple septic pipes for people because the owners left the pipes sticking up out the ground over 2ft, failing to provide the new tenants with the ability to hook up. We have been told since June of 2023 that a pool was going to be installed, they still haven't even broke ground. As well as some recreational areas for our kids. In a nutshell, between the neglect of basic caretaking and the lies they have sold to tenants, I don't recommend this campground. The tenants look after one another because the owners won't. Here are some pictures. Response: We technically never signed another contract and did not notice the automatic renewal in the contract because this is NOT standard practice for campgrounds. That is on me. We have never seen it in any campground that we have been to in our 10 years of traveling. Assuming we would be going into a 30 day contract which is standard. The offer made to us to get out of our lease was pay another 6 months on top of the 4 months we have paid. Which is 10 months total and you keeping the deposit. Basically paying 11 out of 12 months. As you stated our lease was up at the end of July. 2nd: No on-site management point is poor business practice on your part. Leaving the sites unfinished by not cutting the sewer pipes and people having to move sites because of wash outs and ruts. If that's how you choose to manage that is sad. 3rd: The dumpsters were and have been an on going issue. People got tired of even trying to contact yall because of your poor attitudes. 4th: I think people will recognize a pattern here. Failure to own up to your responsibilities. The 7 consecutive days without water was not on the city. We actually had no full days without water because of the city. The water wasn't fixed due to the owners failing to find someone to fix it immediately. It was 4 days before someone showed up to inspect it. The tenants had to cut the water pump back on every time work was done. WHY? because of no on-site management. The tenants had to let all contractors in WHY? because of no on-site management. The tenants had to pick up trash around the campground, WHY? because of no on-site management. I could care less about the pool, it just shows a consistent pattern of neglect and lies. Own up for your failures because there are many. Great location yes but terrible ownership.

**The pros do not outweigh the cons.** Pros: Rate, open skies, and beautiful sunsets/sunrises. Cons: - No management. If there are issues, it can take days to weeks for a resolution. We have had to inform the owners on multiple occasions that the dumpsters were full. The smell in the summer was awful. I would go on walks daily just to pick up trash to try and keep the place a little nicer. If contractors came, the owners would often text to see if anyone could let them in, instead of being present to make sure work was done correctly. - Many promises, no delivery. The campground said the pool and possibly playground (we got mixed info on whether there would be one) would be installed at the beginning of Summer 2023. They then changed it to Aug 2023 and at the beginning of September this changed to December 2023 and then April 2024. At the beginning of the summer (2024) they said it would be installed by the end of summer. We are now in November and before we moved out they said it would be installed April 2025. The owners have given many excuses as to why they haven't fulfilled these promises but these excuses do not line up with what the contractors that came to the campground said when we personally spoke to them. The owner we dealt with the most was incredibly friendly and helpful UNTIL we moved in. We were told that our spot would be ready for us and construction debris would be removed before we moved there. When we arrived, none of it was removed. We had to remove it ourselves but because some of it was full of wasps, we opted for moving it as far from our camper as possible and then kept our kids away. I wrote them multiple times asking for them to remove it like they promised and it took 3 months. - Poor care of property with water lines bursting being a common occurrence. We had no water for over 22 days in the last year and had to start storing water to make sure we weren't without. That would be upsetting for anyone but for us, a family of 5 with 3 young children, that's pretty upsetting. Because dirt wasn't screened properly, a fact confirmed by multiple contractors when they came to make repairs, the weight of vehicles would cause rocks to press on pipes causing major leaks. Rain caused major washouts that meant campers had to replace rocks at their sites and clear washout on roads. And because the dirt was not layered correctly, our camper would consistently sink a little bit every month. The camper had to be readjusted so the tires and levels would sit on the ground, not in the ground. We were going to have to do it again but chose to leave instead. During the winter, roads were not properly cared for making it very dangerous to travel. We had to reach out to contractors to find people available to come out, for them. After the second freeze, campers were out there with shovels trying to clean the roads so people could get out for propane and supplies. When I reached out to the owners about the condition of the roads, they suggested parking at the bottom of the mountain, on the road where they had a mailbox stolen, leave our car and walk up. - Hideaway's communication with campers was poor to non-existent about repairs, utility outages or updates on what was going on. Consistent apathy and lack of concern for residents made the experience here awful. The campground is young so we excused a lot and had they been honest and shown any empathy or genuine concern, we could have been understanding. But their dishonesty, attitude towards residents, the snail pace at which they worked to remedy issues and lack of upkeep made this a terrible experience.

Greg and I came up to the campground before it was completed. We immediately knew it was where we wanted to be as we have been at several other campgrounds around Norris and were not impressed with those. We have watched it go from a bunch of dirt to a place we call our favorite getaway. There are so many nice people and the views are amazing. The owners are working hard to create a beautiful atmosphere and experience. We are excited about the pool and whatever will be coming next. It’s not perfect but no place is. Please ignore the reviews from some as it just wasn’t what they were looking for. It’s peaceful and happy. 😋

Like with any business, not everyone is going to be happy. We have been here since the beginning and love the fact that we are so close to marinas, stores and restaurants yet when back at the campground we are back to serene surroundings and beautiful views. The pool is under construction and will be ready soon. With every new business, there is a learning curve. I believe the owners are relaying all the information to the tenants that are given to them by contractors. This place is great and only getting better. Put your name on the list to get a site because once the pool project is complete, they won’t be able to build sites fast enough!!

We have been at this campground since they first opened. There were a few delays in getting it opened, due to sourcing supplies and contractors, but totally worth the wait. We have a great view of the lake. Our spot is large, compared to most other campgrounds. We have room to park our boat on our spot. The owners also arranged to get a discounted boat slip at a nearby marina, to those interested. We have two small dogs that we camp with. Public boat ramp within minutes. I really couldn’t ask for a better, more accommodating campground.

We are at the Hideaway Campground and have been here since the start . We absolutely love the Lake and Mountain View’s . The lots are very large and the resort style pool will be finished soon . Wifi is excellent and Ph service is 100% perfect . This is a very family oriented place with Music and food trucks scheduled throughout the summer season . Lake and marina ‘s are just literally minutes away . We highly recommend this campground .
