Customer Reviews
Nice place but room had no coffee maker, paper or pen nor a hairdryer. No breakfast or even juice nor a scrap of food so be prepared.
I am surprised about the low rating of this small hotel. It's functional, clean and comfortable. We stayed with our twin toddlers. I forgot to take photos but it looks exactly like the photos of the hotel website. Higher ceiling and bright. The bed and pillows are super comfortable. It's same or better than any of the 4-5 stars hotels. Bathroom looks great. There is only one person at the front desk but that's what I expected because this is a small hotel close to highway so you can't expect great customer service. The room has a full size fridge, stove and microwave as well. I do need to comment on the awesome soap stand section of the toiletries block. I do wish every hotel has that. Soap dishes do not work! Location is great for those in transit, it's across from gas and EV station, just off the highway and close to the mall (and casino). Post-comment: ahhh now I see why the low rating. Yes, they take $150 damage deposit which is not uncommon. Also, payment is not at time of booking but upon arrival so you need to have a functioning credit or perhaps just go and get cash from the bank?
==WARNING: ONLY BOOK HERE IF YOU ARE WILLING TO RISK THIS HOTEL CANCEL YOUR BOOKING LAST MINUTE== How stupid am I to not check reviews here before booking just because the photos looked nice. I guess they look nice IF you even got your room. I booked my rooms WELL IN ADVANCE to visit Kamloops before the winter season hits. We are talking about booking half a year ago and with a NON-REFUNDABLE transaction, so I was COMMITTED to stay. Guess what? THEY are not committed to take me, and decided to just cancel my booking in the morning when I am suppose to go to Kamloops! Luckily the Super 8 had a family room next door but I am pretty sure I would've paid a cheaper price if I booked with Super 8 earlier, but at least my trip was not completely in shamble. Reading reviews here it looks like I am not alone, and this hotel gives ridiculous reasons on cancelling your booking, from not taking in your pet, to you are a local residence, to they just tell you they sold out EVEN YOU PAID in advance. Talk about being creative in screwing customers!
We had a pleasant stay here with my partner and our small dog. The only issue was that the bed had a few hairs from previous guests, which is why I'm taking away one star. Other than that, everything was great.
Absolutely avoid this hotel. They claim to have a workout room. We went up to work out in the workout room had a bed and a bunch of tables and chairs in it. There was a chaise chair squeezed in the room where you couldn't even get into the office chair for the desk. There was no night light on the nightstand. No blow dryer. Tiny little sink area. They used to serve breakfast and now they have reduced it to just coffee. The best indicator of a hotel about ready to go to out of business is when they have single-ply toilet paper. All of this for over $250 a night. The front desk is rude and incredibly unfriendly - particularly the gentleman that works the front desk in the morning. They also hold $100 on your credit card - what 3-star Hotel does that? One that is on the edge of going down - that is who. Avoid this hotel at all cost
