The Lakeside at Thorburn Introduce
The Lakeside at Thorburn, located on Thorburn Lake, Trans-Canada Hwy, Clarenville, NL A5A 2C2, Canada, is a campground that offers various amenities. As part of the "Campgrounds & RV Parks" category, it aims to provide a recreational experience for campers.
However, customer reviews indicate several concerns. Guests have frequently mentioned that almost all amenities, including the pool, hot tub, and mini-golf, require payment. This has led to dissatisfaction, with some feeling that these should be included in the camping fee.
There are also reports of inconsistent information regarding pricing, with one reviewer stating that the manager initially said mini-golf was free but later charged for it. This has led to frustration and a sense of being misled.
Safety concerns have also been raised, particularly regarding the bouncy castle, which was reported to be ripped, leading to an injury. Additionally, reviewers have mentioned that vehicles drive too fast within the campground, posing a risk to children.
Other issues include poor Wi-Fi service and a generally negative experience due to the perceived high cost of amenities and the safety concerns.
Potential campers should be aware of these concerns before booking a stay at The Lakeside at Thorburn.
The Lakeside at Thorburn offers a campground with paid amenities and mixed reviews. Located on Thorburn Lake, Trans-Canada Hwy.

There’s no wifi, the service here sucks my brother asked how much is it was to play mini golf and the manager said it was free then the next day my brother went to go get it again and they made a big ol deal saying that it costs money but the manager said it didn’t. you have to pay for everything here the pool, the hot tub,and mini golf this stuff should be free, 25$ for half hour in the hot tub I don’t think so.
NOT GOOD YOU HAVE YOU PAY FOR EVERYTHING, hot tubs, pool, and mini golf etc.bouncy castle was ripped up and my son cut his eye on it, little kids play on this they have to be careful not a safe place. They drive crazy and fast around here at dark and day there’s kids going around HERE! not good not coming back
This is a beautiful campground to go with kids. Loads of things to do. We loved our stay at this park. We got to rent and RV which was really nice. We had never been camping in and RV before so it was a new experience for us. We enjoyed every minute of it. The staff were wonderful and the food from the diner was delicious!! The kids LOVED the train. Pool was nice and the beach was lovely. The Go-karts we're a big hit as well. The campground is clean and neat. We will definitely go back again sometime.
Went for a skidoo trip. Lovely rooms, enough for what we needed. Had enough cooking utensils to cook with, towels were plentiful. Bed was only a double but we fit. Hottub was great, could use a rougher step area as it did get slippery with ice.. of course it was -14 so ice forming was to be expected. we just threw a towel down. Caretakers went above and beyond to make sure our stay was perfect. Definitely going back again. Only issue we had was the kids from the other guest stomping up the halls at 12:30 slamming doors.. but that was the parents fault.
This place is super run down. Staff was partying for a staff party( which is totally fine ) if they weren’t driving around the campsite drunk at 9:30 at night. Totally infuriating especially with kids running around. Septic had to get pumped and took 2 days for bathrooms/ showers to work. Staff was very rude about the whole situation. Everything costs too much money( pool, hot tub, shower, etc) It’s really too bad because we used to love staying here but will find another place next year. WAY TOO GHETTO!!!! DON’T DO IT!!!!!
