Perfect place for an overnight stay inside Mammoth Cave national park! Rates are affordable and rooms are simple, motel style with close parking. We arrived late, and grabbed our keys inside the visitors center building. Short drive over to a set of rooms. Basic amenities but extremely quiet and beautiful
This is a very big basic motel. The front lobby staff. Was very friendly and helpful. there seem to be new upgrades in the main lobby and in the restaurants and cafe. The rooms were very bright because there were walls of windows, so you felt like you were in nature. We stayed in the outside motel lodges, so cannot comment on the inside hotel rooms. it was very simple.. There were several bugs in the room(which iscreally hust nature), and the room smelled like a pool bathhouse. there is no hairdryer or iron or place to hang your clothes, which made it very difficult because we were there at a business meeting. There also is no place to hang your towel while you shower, so you must get creative. They did have plenty of shower supplies, hand soap and lotion in the bathroom. there are not many signs to get there, and it can be kind of confusing even with GPS so just follow signs to the cave entrance, and it is next door. i was able to work with the free wifi. I would not let any of these things deter you just be prepared .
Enjoyed the Sunset Terrace Lodges during our family reunion! We had 6 rooms. Rustic, like the surroundings, the courtyard between the rooms offered a great place to gather around the tables and chairs! The deer arrived each evening! The location is within walking distance of the visitor center and lodge/restaurants! Nice to be onsite to enjoy the caves and beautiful surrounding grounds 👍
The location was great! It was so easy to walk to the visitor center for the tours. The beds were comfortable and the room fine. Everything was clean. A small chair would have been nice. Having a fridge was very helpful. My only critique is the bathroom, it is small, old with noticeable mildew. The shower is low flow and the stream is exceptionally sharp and a little painful.
My husband and I stayed recently at the Sunset Terrace at Mammoth Cave National Park. Our room was on the end in a small detached row of rooms away from the lodge. It was a nice room with a small bathroom and closet. Dated but still nice. Linens and bed were comfortable. Shower was good. We saw deer and turkeys from the wide windows which I enjoyed. Our only problem was wanting to watch the big game. There was a sheet listing all the channels but not which Roku service to use. No one answered when we called to ask so we asked at the desk but they didn’t know. Someone offered to go over to check while we ate dinner and later said some rooms have direcTV but not our room. The WiFi was not strong enough to stream from our home subscription. Normally it wouldn’t matter but THE GAME.
