The Magic Circle Introduce
For those seeking a unique and welcoming desert retreat in Arizona, The Magic Circle campground in Quartzsite offers an experience unlike any other. Nestled within the expansive La Posa South Long Term Visitor Area (LTVA) managed by the Bureau of Land Management (BLM), The Magic Circle is a well-established and highly-regarded destination, particularly popular among "snowbirds" and retired couples who journey to Arizona for the milder winter months. It's known for its friendly, diverse community and a relaxed, clothing-optional environment that fosters a sense of freedom and camaraderie.
Since 1999, visitors have been drawn to The Magic Circle for its tranquil atmosphere and the opportunity to "get away from it all." While it offers a distinct naturist aspect, it's primarily a thriving community where people connect, enjoy social events, and embrace the wide-open spaces of the Arizona desert. This campground isn't just a place to park your RV; it's a lifestyle choice for many, offering a unique blend of natural beauty, community spirit, and recreational opportunities.
The Magic Circle is strategically located in Quartzsite, Arizona, a town renowned for its winter RV population and annual gem and mineral shows. Specifically, it can be found at JR22+4MX, Quartzsite, AZ 85346, USA. Its position within the La Posa South LTVA means it benefits from being slightly removed from the immediate hustle and bustle of Quartzsite town center, yet still offers convenient access to local amenities and attractions.
Accessibility to The Magic Circle is straightforward. Visitors typically arrive via Interstate 10, a major highway connecting Arizona to California. From I-10, one would take Highway 95 South towards Yuma. The LTVA entrances, including access to The Magic Circle, are approximately 2 miles south of Quartzsite town. While the initial mile or so of the road within the LTVA is paved, deeper sections leading to The Magic Circle can be dirt roads. Clear signage, often marked with an "N" for the naturist area, guides visitors to the campground. It's worth noting that while it offers a sense of seclusion, it's still an easy drive to Quartzsite for supplies, dining, and other necessities.

We’ve been visiting almost every winter since 1999. 25 years now. It’s a great place to get away from it all.
Diverse group of mostly retired couples who enjoy clothing optional recreation and social events in a tent that is run by a club board.
Interesting place, indeed. Wasn't many campers around in Mid-October though. I'd bet it's filled up by January.
My favorite place to camp!
