Room is clean and spacious with a separate seating area.. we had no privacy concerns. The outdoor balcony seating area is cute where we had our morning tea. Weather is 60s and can’t be better than this to visit Death Valley National Park. Washing machine is available but no detergent or dryer.
Absolutely horrible stay. Save 350$ and don’t stay in Death Valley. The hotel is extremely crappy and unaccommodating. The bed was not made properly, and had stains on the sheets. The sofa bed wasn’t ready when we arrived, and we had to plead the staff to make the bed, instead of assembling it ourselves. The only Saloon restaurant (the other options are a mediocre open buffet and an ice cream shop that sells fast food) is a joke. The food was barely edible, and most people had to wait an hour or two to get a table. The food tasted like heated up frozen food for a whooping price. Oh also wifi is basically not working. Overall, this is a scam. Do not stay here.
We stayed at the campground and appreciated having access to the pool and bathroom as well as the grounds. It's a great location - very central - and has some good facilities and a cozy campfire. My only complaint is that the bathrooms were all filthy. The bathroom by the pool reeked the worst and all of the garbages were overflowing.
I wish I could tell you what it's like to stay here but I wasn't given the opportunity. I went to the front desk while touring the valley and asked how much a room was. Steven, at the front desk, said he didn't know and would have to look it up. He was very reluctant to tell me then told me to look online. Then, with a terribly snobby and unaccommodating attitude, he saw my wife and child and suggested I try down the road because it was much more affordable and that they didn't have beds other than kings, except for 4 rooms. So after putting in minimal effort to help, assuming I can't afford the hotel, not accepting a 10 year old and then recommending I stay somewhere else, I realized this is not a place I would like to give my money. Property looks wonderful but with people like that working there, they can go pound sand.
A wonderful place to stay - historic property that combines old world elegance with a modern flair. And the staff were all wonderful- professional and attentive and helpful. We ate in the beautiful dining room and the bartender and all the staff- including our wonderful server Moses- were amazing! Pricey but highly recommend!! (Rooms could use microwave)
