We went tubing at Jonas Ridge Tubing and to Grandfather Mountain and needed a place to stay overnight. The location of the Pineola was very convenient...within minutes of each. It's also conveniently located close to 3 restaurants. It was quiet even though there were plenty of people staying there. Our door opened to the parking lot but we were not awakened by traffic noise or by engines starting up. The heating system in the room worked very well. We were toasty and warm. The hot shower was wonderful. The smell of freshly laundered sheets was a bonus! The check-in process was shocking it was so simple (you just punch in the code texted to you) there was no need to visit someone at a counter! And check out was the same. It was wonderful as that is one less thing you have to do in the morning. :-D
Second time staying here and we will be back again! Perfect place to stay for our weekend ski trips. We love that they have an on-site taproom with live music, and a cute & yummy coffee truck. Staff is always friendly, and housekeeping service was great. The contactless check-in/check-out was new from the last time we stayed here, and it was seamless! Can’t wait to come back!
Beautiful surroundings with room to explore. We use the rv side of The Pineola, and it's fabulous. Convenient bathhouse is always kept clean, with laundry room on site. Close to many mountain attractions. The Taproom room is fun and usually filled with a great crowd of people looking to let loose, play games, or dance to some local live music.
Beautiful community with very nice staff. We loved our little cabin. Fit our family of 4 perfectly. We enjoyed delicious coffee and muffins from the Coffee Tin before we went snow tubing at Jonas Ridge!
The motel portion of the property is okay if you are comfortable with no real on site services(breakfast, coffee/am, front desk/services, etc). Couple of interactions with the help were pleasant, and people were helpful. Grounds had litter, they don't service dog friendly rooms, cheap coffee makers in the rooms, bed was very uncomfortable, just a low end type motel. The room was clean. Saturday night they had music in taproom, and parking spaces for actual guests were all taken, hence we come back from dinner and couldn't park anywhere close to our room. If you looking to relax, this is not the place.
