Such and epic spot for camping! Fireside down by the water with the cool breeze coming in from the lake. It was truly a treat to watch the clouds during sunset and wake up to a mystical view of the lake, fog casting over the surface of the water with the colorful trees in the background on a fall morning. Afika and Embur (his sweet German Shepherd dog) were such great hosts. I felt welcome upon arrival and he was gracious enough to offer his help if there was anything I needed. I definitely will return again to get away from the chaos of the city and wake up to such beauty and the surrounding nature.
I have been following Afikas progress on Instagram for years now as he prepares this beautiful campsite. I know from speaking with him that his passions for hospitality and reverence for the beauty in nature have prepared no less than a true oasis away from life’s mundane. This campsite is on my travel bucket list and have no doubt will deliver the perfect curated experience for some glorious lakeside R&R
It's pretty incredible that this gem exists in the middle of the North Carolina piedmont.
