The Stone Gate Resort

Just took a family weekend at the Stone Gate Resort. We had a fantastic time. The location is great; the little slice of the beach on Lake George is great; the staff is beyond great. Somebody noticed me hunting for sticks to roast marshmallows on and just voluntarily ran up to the main office to get a bunch of proper roasting sticks for us. You can tell the rooms are getting a little older -- it's not a NEW property by any means -- but they've been maintained and cleaned meticulously. I appreciate that they have sufficient seating and table space in the family suites for the number of people that can sleep there -- so often you go to a place and there's a place for you to sleep but nowhere to sit or eat. Lots of thoughtful touches all over the resort. At first lie-down the beds seemed a teensy bit soft but then I got the best night's sleep our second night in so clearly it worked for me! We'd been planning on using our long October weekends to visit all kinds of different locations but maybe we'll just be coming back to the Stone Gate Resort again!

We extended our stay in Lake George in October but had to move hotels. We got so lucky that we wound up at Stone Gate - the property was perfect with Adirondack chairs/campfires everywhere, easy parking, and the location on the water was beautiful. Our room was comfy, clean, and exactly as described. At check in, we were asked what brought us to town and we answered that we had just gotten married…. later that day a gift was left at our door. It included a handwritten note, mugs, hot cocoa packets, and a beautiful Pendleton blanket - by far the most thoughtful & generous gift we have EVER received at a hotel. We will be back with friends and family next season!!!

Everything exudes perfection from the minute you walk in the office! When your getaway starts with such a warm, friendly greeting, you know it will be a great stay! Our room was spotlessly clean and well appointed. The grounds were meticulously maintained. We enjoyed a swim in the pristine, heated pool (not even a stray leaf or bug) in September! The sand on the beach was raked, just like a 5 star resort in the Caribbean. The beach area is stunning and relaxing. Off season is so quiet. It is obvious that this family owned property is well loved. Our keys were given to us in an envelope that said "Arrive as a guest, depart as a friend, and return as family." That pretty much sums up our wonderful stay.

Great place to relax! Just north of the busy downtown area. The cabin was perfect, the grounds are spotless and fire pit’s available by each cabin. Can’t say enough about Samantha. From our first phone call to arrival-just amazing. Well done Stone Gate Resort!

The best quality multiple room resort I have seen in Lake George. Owners passionate about what they do and that is 90% of success. Keep up the good work. I hope that with new seasons you are able to bring more and more improvement to an already great atmosphere. Territory looks great and upkeeps. Pool is nice, and all the sports areas are a BIG + Thank You and you can rest assure we will recommend you guys to everyone we know who will be traveling to this nice region. BTW, there is a nice mini-store at this location, with food and alcohol.
