The Woodland Shores RV Resort Introduce
The Woodland Shores RV Resort, located at 4370 N Ridge Rd, Mears, MI 49436, offers a unique camping experience with a wooded environment and access to a private beach on Lake Michigan. You can contact them at (231) 742-7045 or +1 231-742-7045.
As part of the Campgrounds & RV Parks category, The Woodland Shores RV Resort provides a community-oriented camping experience with various amenities and activities. Customer reviews highlight its friendly atmosphere and scenic location.
Guests have praised the resort's "friendly community" and "beautiful space." The availability of "lovely small cabins" offers an alternative to traditional RV camping. The resort's wooded setting creates a feeling of being "in the middle of the woods," providing a serene and natural environment.
One of the resort's standout features is its "private beach on Lake Michigan." However, the resort's layout necessitates the use of a "golf cart to get everywhere," which may be a consideration for some visitors. The wifi service is reported to be "horrible near the office," with better reception at the beach or clubhouse. This can be problematic for guests needing internet access for planning activities or navigation.
A notable drawback is the lack of sewer hookups on the lots, with only gray water disposal available. Guests with combined black and gray water tanks may find this inconvenient, as it requires more frequent trips to the "free dump station on the way out" or paying for pump-outs. The resort does offer "alot of activities planned," fostering a sense of community and engagement among guests.
Amenities include a pool (though the hot tub was down during one reviewer's stay) and a "small arcade." The nearby Cranberry Lake is also mentioned as a point of interest.
In summary, The Woodland Shores RV Resort offers a unique wooded camping experience with a private beach and a friendly community. Potential guests should be aware of the need for a golf cart to navigate the resort and the limited wifi and sewer hookup availability.

I was invited to woodland shores by friends and we were able to stay in one of their lovely small cabins. This place has such a friendly community and is a beautiful space. Small trips on the golf cart to go to the beach or visit my friends lot. Might have to make it an annual visit!
Cute little campground, loved how you feel like your in the middle of the woods, also having a private beach on lake michigan. Unfortunately you need a golf cart to get everywhere, wifi was horrible near the office, you have to go to the beach or clubhouse. We needed it for ideas of places to visit and GPS where things were (never been to silverlake). Kinda upset there weren't sewars on lot for black water, only gray water (our tank is combined and fills quick, so it made it rough being away from bathrooms and having one that couldn't be used in fear of backup, which happened and had to pay $30 to have it pumped) they do have a free dump station on the way out. There are alot of activities planned which gets people together! Hot tub was down when we were there, pool was up and looked nice. There is a small arcade that looked pretty awesome. Cranberry lake was cool too.
Had a wonderful time! Loved our site. Everything was very well maintained. Our dogs loved the dog park too. Looking forward to our next visit!
***In response to their response... All of the other RV parks that I have stayed at that also offer tent camping usually arrange the tent camping near the restrooms. This is relevant information for other tent sleepers. The fact that the beach isn't easily accessible is also valid information... My nephew enjoyed the resort amenities, and we loved the fellow campers! They were extremely helpful and so friendly. We did sleep in our car and we did arrive late each night - I'm not sure why that matters 🤷♀️ We used the resort as a base to explore the western coast. We stayed gone for most of our stay. Contacting the staff would have been difficult - there is no phone service and the office was closed every time that we stopped by. I'm not saying that you don't have reasonable hours, it just didn't meet our schedule... *** My original review - My nephew and I camped here for 3 nights. We had a terrible tent spot. The table was up sideways against a tree and the firepit was unusable. It was far from the restrooms, had zero cellphone service, and wifi only works inside the clubhouse :/ The beach is across the road and down the street. It is down a very steep hill, but it is beautiful, soft, sand... There is also a bath house by the beach. If you had a golf cart, it wouldn't be an issue at all - I did not... lmao
Family oriented and beautiful! Great sized sites. Wonderful staff! Clean pool, adult only hot tub, free shuffleboard area, and spotless clean private restrooms & showers! Slight problem in my book of golf carts & motorized scooters going over the speed limit enforced for vehicles.
