Very sparse camp in the middle of nowhere. Owned by trumpies who have difficulty communicating and seem to put almost no effort into the campground appearance or camper experience. Very weird vibe. Their house is a big prefab metal warehouse building in the center of the tiny compound but exudes zero sense of welcome, or often, even human presence. You can get a sense of this in her GoogleMap tag for the property...."my house in my campground". There's zero welcome or even acknowledgement of campers even in the tag name! I met some very good other campers here but there's no real community vibe between themselves. There's an abundance of "NO..." and "DON'T..." signs, and no signs of camping or happiness....or happy campers. The one tiny bathroom is makeshift and funky with oddly functional hot water, no ventilation and not exactly cleaned regularly. The outdoor sink for washing dishes is haphazardly placed, has no hot water, broken plumbing and is filled with leaves and debris. The washer and dryer run on meters which are timed by quarters and much more difficult to figure out than normal laundrymat machines. There's not even an ice machine for campers. Their cute dog is left outside in a little cage all day, sometimes without adequate water or a clean cage floor. Nearby Keaton Beach was supposed to be popular until recently, but the whole area, although largely cleaned of hurricane detritus, is wholly depressed and was devastated by Helene on September 26 2024.
