Great campsite lots of locations to hike nearby and on the road to a amazing driving view had a bathroom but out of toilet paper the sites were clean but if you bring a tent that needs to be bolted to the ground you won’t be able to at this site but thankfully because it’s surrounded by trees there isn’t much wind. The big problem is the dust I don’t know why it’s so dusty by every car the goes by (which there is a lot of cars passing) even the trees had a thick layer of dust from the road. Overall if it wasn’t for the dust this would be an amazing campsite but if you have allergies might need to go somewhere else.
Super nice campground. I think there's about 5-6 sites. It's right next to a BEAUTIFUL creek with an amazing morning sunlit view of the mountains! It's $10 a night. ATV's Dirt bikes and off road vehicles are constantly driving past the site and make a LOT of dust that blows into camp. There's so much dust that you can wipe it off of the trees. There's bear proof storage in every site, and a restroom, but it didn't have toilet paper when we went. There's also fire pits and a big bear proof dumpster to put your trash. I would stay here again for the view but the dust was pretty bad.
I love this campground, nestled in the mountains near Ouray, Colorado. It’s a small National Forest campground with bear boxes and there’s no electric. If your in an RV, most spaces are small, so it’s best if you’re in a smaller rig. I got lucky and parked straight ahead near two raging rivers merging together near my campsite in the Spring snowmelt. It’s been over a year since I visited, but I believe it’s first come first serve with a payment box. Have fun. Haul out your (and others) trash and keep these magic spots perfect for future campers. It’s imperative that we take care of our National Forest.
This campsite is really close to town but feels far away because it is nestled in the mountains. This filled up with people very quickly, but each designated campsite spacious. It is very affordable at $10 a night that you were able to reserve on site. The camp host (2022) was very helpful and told us about fun things we could do around the area. This was helpful when one of the days we got rained out and had to figure out something else to do. We usually do not stay in designated campsites, however, there is not dispersed camping readily available in Ouray. You have no other choice – Understanding that, this is an excellent campsite. It is next to the four wheeling trails, hiking trails, and is five minutes from town. Great place!
Nice little campground, $10/night. There were a couple smaller trailers there but most were tent camping. Right on the river and directly across the road from Weehawken trail head. Beautiful spot but could see it getting dusty during heavy traffic summer days with all the UTV's heading up.
