This is a Travel Resorts of America (TRA) campground. It is a smaller campground. Very peaceful and quiet. Lots of families with children too. The campsites are well spaced. TRA purchased this campground about 3 years ago and they are still making improvements. The staff is extremely friendly. Pool is great for adults but deep for young children and none swimmers.
Staff is very friendly. The site we had was very nice and spacious. We feel more attention should be given to the size of the camper that is going into the site. We had difficulty backing into the site because of the space. It appeared there were several other sites that were empty that would have been more suitable for our motorhome. There is no camp store for ice or essentials and the only wifi was in the clubhouse. The laundry facility was OK. Had 3 washers and 3 dryers. The baskets you put your clean laundry in were not real clean and a nit rusty. All in all, we enjoyed our stay here, would just like to pass on some information that would make it more enjoyable .
I just wanted to say that my wife and I had such a horrible experience at Thousand palms RV resort We were there on a voucher from travel resorts of America originally we were told we wouldn't be able to stay at that location because it was under construction even though while joining in North Carolina Florida is our home resort they told us it wouldn't be a problem fast forward 2 months later when we were able to finally use our voucher we unfortunately got stuck there during Hurricane Milton when we first arrived we never received a welcome package or even as much as a hello My wife is African American and I didn't want to be paranoid at first thinking that it is 2024 and all that these people are racist but as time progress and a few incidents happened I realized that so is the case so sad to see in this day and age We were stuck there during Hurricane Milton with no water no power and mind you they put us on a site to see if we want to buy the 30,000 a year membership with no sewer hookup. We had an abrupt emergency in Connecticut right after the storm and we called TRA We were told that we would get reimbursed the 4 and 1/2 days that we had no power or water and the public restrooms weren't even open there was no gas that I could find within a 200 mi radius so we left the site and parked in a nearby field without any assistance from the park We were in Connecticut nearly on our way back when we finally got a call stating that TRA requested we receive our time back that we weren't allowed to enjoy the park and thousand palms blatantly denied it without a reason Just said we're not approving it You could have left if you wanted to mind you again we were on a voucher given to us by North Carolina this was supposed to be our home resort in Florida I am so appalled at their disrespect utter humiliation and no humility they not only didn't give us the 4 and 1/2 5 days that we requested but they told us if we didn't give them the money for those days in 24 hours they were going to have our rig towed again we were in Connecticut for a family emergency with my 5 minor children. We went back and forth with the park for a few hours then we decided you know what we'll just pay it and maybe take it up with TRA when we called the park to say okay we're going to pay the 300 and some odd dollars they told us that our trailer had been towed not even 24 hours after we spoke to them We contacted TRA again We were given the runaround reached out to the CEO of the company and are still waiting a response The tow fee was $495. I would not recommend staying at this park not only was the pool not functioning when we got there No welcome package but the looks and stairs that we got from some of the long-term residents because we didn't have a 2024 jayco is appalling while they were speaking to staff. My experience was downright awful and I wish this upon no human being I treat others as I wish to be treated I wish they would do the same seems like they need a management revision and ethics training when dealing with minorities. I failed to mention we were on site 60 The ones in the back with no sewage but during Hurricane Milton hit the park pretty hard and size 60 was bombarded with projectiles We had a huge branch come down and damage our RV nobody cared nobody cared that we lost power nobody had any empathy for the fact that we were to become future members at TRA but because of them we will no longer be staying with TRA and it is very unfortunate because the North Carolina facility was nothing but wonderful and beautiful The people were kind and pleasant And went out of their way to show their potential future guests a wonderful time.
Bought a camper from campers world. Was told to come in and get 21 free days of stay from here. They couldnt do it on the day i bought it. So i drive 1.5 hours to get here. My wife couldnt come because of a sick child. So they tell me i have to do a tour to get the free stuff but dont want to do because my wife isnt there. Apperently if your married you cant buy there stuff without both people sighning. So i now have 3hrs of driving and half a tank of gas used to come here for nothing. No tour no free nights and rude people that just want to sell stuff. If you dont plan on buying stuff dont even waste your time. Absoulutly a waste of time and money!
TRA opened up Thousand Palms over a year ago, shortly after they sold Luna Sands in Florida. My wife and I visited Thousand Palms last April. We were brand new members and we never got the opportunity to visit Luna Sands. We are in Thousand Palms right now as I write this review. We can see the improvements, the grounds maintenance is superb, new laundry machines, along with much better pool Maintenance. The park has removed some but not all of the run down park models and most of the full timers junk RV’s. “ Now moving forward “ I play by the rules and understand the 14 day max leave for a week and then you can return. Im concerned, when we joined TRA we were told that TRA was exclusive to members only, but now TRA is opening this resort and others up to the general public? We requested to stay 2 additional weeks, due to so many spots being open, and we were told that we could stay but the additional 2 weeks would cost us $65.00 a day which comes to $910.00 for the 2 weeks. There is no internet at your RV or cable hookup, you must walk to the clubhouse to get the internet. We could drive 1 1/2 hours to Bee’s RV Resort in Clermont, which is a ( Coast to Coast resort ) we would only have to pay $ 19.00 a day or 266.00 for 2 weeks, or we could drive 20 mins and stay at Three Flags, (Thousand Trails), for $44.00 a day, and that comes to $616.00 to stay for 2 weeks. One would think TRA would honor Coast to Coast pricing being that we are Premier Members. I am now wondering, is TRA in a Financial situation because they have opened to the General Public? I am ending the post with many concerns.
