Thousand Trails Hidden Cove Introduce
Thousand Trails Hidden Cove, located at 687 County Rd 3919, Arley, AL 35541, provides a sprawling and serene RV park experience on the shores of Smith Lake. Contact them at (205) 221-7042 or +1 205-221-7042. As a part of the Campgrounds & RV Parks category, it caters primarily to RV enthusiasts seeking a peaceful lakeside retreat.
The park boasts generously sized RV sites with full hookups, including water, sewer, and 50 amp service. The sites and roads are gravel, generally well-maintained. The park itself is noted for its natural beauty, with ample grass, trees, and wilderness areas. The lake access is a significant draw, offering opportunities for fishing and swimming.
Amenities at Thousand Trails Hidden Cove include clean laundry and shower facilities, a swimming pool (seasonal), and recreational areas for basketball and volleyball. The park is also praised for its staff, who are described as helpful and kind. A unique feature is the presence of whitetail deer that visit the park in the evenings, adding to the natural charm.
However, the park's location is relatively remote, with grocery stores and other amenities located 16+ miles away. The roads leading to the park are also noted to be in poor condition. Furthermore, beyond lake activities, there are limited entertainment or sightseeing options in the immediate area. This makes it ideal for those seeking a quiet, relaxing stay focused on the park's amenities and lake activities, rather than those looking for extensive external exploration.

Customer Reviews
Sprawling RV Park with RV sites that were generously large in both length and width. Our site had water, sewer, and 50 amp service. Sites and roads are gravel without pot holes. We were greeted by the manager who was helpful & kind as were all staff for the (2) weeks we stayed. The lake is beautiful with easy access to the water. The park is very nice with plenty of grass, trees, and natural wilderness. The laundry room & showers were both kept clean. We were here in March, so the pool wasn't yet open, but the natural beauty of this park was quiet and serene. If you wanted to go to the grocery store, most were approx 16+ miles from the park (Walmart & Publix). This area isn't heavily populated, so most stores are a bit further away. However, for us, this wasn't an issue. This park allows UPS, FEDEX, & Amazon packages without any added fees. This is a major plus for full - time RVers.
This park itself is beautiful, but the roads are terrible. It’s a large park and is well kept and clean with lots of amenities. The downfall here is, if you aren’t spending time on Smith Lake, there really isn’t much else to do. The park is tucked away and 30 minutes from any decent sized town. The highlight of the park are the whitetail deer that come in the evenings to find food left for them. Such beautiful animals. It has a variety of lots and has full hookups for big rigs like ours. The laundry was great and the pool was really nice. There are even basketball and volleyball sets. It would be a great place to bring a large family, do some fishing and swimming and enjoy the amenities of the park. But, if you are looking g for scenery, views, and vacation activities outside the RV park itself, you will be bored. We full time in our RV and would use this park again, since it’s a nice park. But, there really isn’t a lot to do outside the park.
We loved this campground! Stayed in C loop in a large pull through site with full hookups and 50 amp service. Our Verizon service was almost non existent, but we were able to pay $14.95 for a week of wifi and that helped a lot! It was a beautiful lake and we loved taking walks around the campground! Very relaxing place. We enjoyed seeing deer in the campground and woods nearby. The large clubhouse had tons of activities in it, including a piano that I enjoyed! Everything was clean and well maintained and the staff were very friendly! We hope to be back!
This park is beautiful, spacious, and packed with activities!!! Very big rig friendly! This was my second time parking my 43ft 5th wheel and as a novice, pulling in and out could not be easier!! Well maintained and the service and employee here are phenomenal! Another cool thing is one of the lady’s that works here will feed the deer everyday so it is without fail that you can see 10, 20, or even 30 deer grabbing a bite to eat!!! I love this park and I will be back at least once a year if not more!!!
The RV park is nice and clean divided in sections. A lot of annual sides. Our spot was leveled with gravel wide and long, full hookups, good T mobile and weak Verizon. Access to the lake with boat ramp and pavilion with great views. Laundry room, pool and playground, no dog park. Dark enough at night for stargazing.
It's called Hidden Cove for a reason. It was definitely off the beaten path, but once we got there, it was great! RV sites are level, spacious, and plenty of room to fit our 45' toy hauler and our both our back deck and front porch and still space to park the truck. Staff called to check on us when we needed to add to our stay until we could get a flat tire replaced. The view of the lake is beautiful.
An okay camp ground but the amenities were all a bit run down. They were getting the pool ready to open it up - May17, 2025. The pool area looked really nice but there was no shade around the pool. The roads leading to the campground are a bit rough, which made for a bumpy ride as we got closer.
Amazing location right on the lake with many green spaces for a playground, mini golf, horseshoes and disc golf. Swimming in the lake was fun and refreshing. The roads were well maintained overall with only a few areas of washout. Laundry was sufficient. Clubhouse was very large but a bit musty. 2 pool tables but only one works to play on. Air hockey worked. Free Internet at the clubhouse and laundry house was quite slow but more that enough for checking email (2 Mbps down 1 Mbps up). The pool was drained as they are waiting on a new liner but no timeline was given in when it would be complete.
Not a bad RV Campground just not quite what we prefer. It's a long way from everywhere and while it's "on the water" it's also on a bluff making waterfront sites actually cliffside sites. The only negative was when they decided to fill the swimming pool without telling anyone. That dropped the water pressure to 15 psi. I spent 30 minutes troubleshooting my rig before I called the desk and got the, "oh yeah..." version of 'sorry about that.'
Very nice RV Park on Smith Lake in Arley, AL. Location is rural. Very few grocery and restaurant options close by, however everything is available within 20 miles. Nice game room.
