We had a wonderful time staying in a cabin at the laconner thousand trails. The staff is who made it special. Michelle and Kelly made it possible for me to spend 4 days with my daughter home from college and family and friends got to come. Everything we needed was in the cabin it was very clean warm and cozy. We had a beautiful view of the water also. Thank you so much for the great time.
I’m fairly disappointed with my thousand trails experience and this La Conner location. The bathrooms are consistently dirty, there are dead bugs in all the windows in the club house, and there’s a lot of homeless people living in tents “camping”, even now during the winter. It’s becoming a luxury homeless encampment. There are signs put up about theft and apparently someone was caught sleeping in the laundry room. So when these things happen, new rules go into places and everyone is penalized for them. So now the laundry room closes early and everyone lost access to one of the clubhouses because people kept stealing. Same thing with the bathroom, apparently someone keeps “vandalizing” the bathrooms, so they shut one down and penalize everyone. They also just changed the way you get sites now, and they choose FOR you based on length. You can no longer choose your own site. This is good for rigs that are larger and need to make sure they fit. But it sucks because a lot of the sites are in crappy locations and next to weirdos you don’t want to stay next to. You can kiss goodbye to getting a cool spot by the water or being able to camp next to friends and family. And it’s based on the length of your rig, not including your car. So if your truck doesn’t fit your camping spot, you’re out of luck. My boyfriend was told “I don’t care if your car doesn’t fit your spot, you can park in overflow parking” when he checked in. I’m really expected to fit a 15 foot long bed in a 28 foot site with my 28 foot long trailer that just fits? And I’m expected to walk half way across the campground to access my car day and night?! This is ridiculous and very rude lady to my boyfriend when we checked in this past Sunday. The manager Kelly does seem to give decent service. But overall they really need to get it together. It’s an affordable full time living rv option. But don’t expect a nice stay.
Nice gated campground located with part of it on the water. Beach access, lodge, hot tub, fitness center, laundry, mini golf, ball courts, fire pit, horse shoe, shuffle board, volleyball, playground/play fields, dump station, propane, clean restrooms/showers, friendly staff, lots of places to walk, fun stuff to do at campground and a short drive to La Conner, Anacortes, and other beautiful areas. Cabins, tent sites, and rv sites available. Rv sites have power 30/50 Amp, some sewer sites, and some possible satellite sites. Cell service can be spotty. If weather is bad sites have been known to lose power. Since there are lots of trees there can also be fallen branches.
We RV camped here twice this summer and it’s a great park. Kind of out of the way but Burlington is only 20 minutes drive away when you need groceries. 15-20 minutes will see you in Deception Pass State Park with lots to explore. A half hour beyond that and you’re in Coupeville so make a day trip to explore Whidbey. Only downsides are lots of tree cover (Starlink) and not many sites with sewer have open skies. Walking down to the water at sunset has been lovely!
We spend most of the year traveling around the country using our Thousand Trails membership program. This was our first time visiting Thousand Trails at LaConner, WA. First, I want to compliment the staff. Very welcoming and friendly. They have made our stay here wonderful. Our site is beautiful. There is plenty of room to set up, park, and put out our outdoor canopy enclosure. Quick walk to the water front. The restrooms and shower are clean. People are friendly. Peaceful neighbors. Dog owners are respectful while out on walks. It's hard to book here sometimes, but well worth the calls to book.
