This place was so peaceful and nice. The cabin and park were very clean with a few snacks left if we got the munchies. Playing putt putt golf was very entertaining with everything provided. The hot tub was clean and peaceful near the wooded area hearing wildlife. I got to see several deers during dusk walking by the lake. There are things to eat and do within 18 minutes. You feel a country setting but still close to things. Overall, I would highly recommend staying here.

This campground was in better shape last year. It really needs a revamp and some basic maintenance. I like this campground and have great views of the lake and decent sites. This is what I would fix the roads are in poor shape. The sites could use a little TLC. The workers are very friendly and helpful.

It was alright, but the people running it are obviously a family or very close friends which from experience causes places to deteriorate at a faster place. For instance the maintenance lady, daughter of the activity director, has not been properly trained. The leaves are so thick on the ground they are decaying underneath which does not let water run off correctly causing deep mud and flooding which is UNSAFE. The activities were fun, public showers need to be renovated and a change machine put into the laundry room if the office won't sell quarters.

We had an incredible weekend at Thousand Trails celebrating a birthday! The cabins were fantastic—super clean, they smelt amazing, and equipped with multiple beds and a fully stocked kitchen for all our cooking needs. We spent most of our time gathered around the fire pit, enjoying the peacefulness and the beautiful surroundings. We also enjoyed visiting the activity center, where we played basketball, tetherball, and putt-putt. Thousand Trails provided all the necessary equipment for these activities, along with plenty of other options. Overall, it was a wonderful experience, and we will defintley be back!

We always enjoy our time here at tawakoni. Big full hook up sites are wonderful. Two lovely pools and a nice hot tub. People outside enjoying activities. The only thing is that the roads are a bit rough. Would love to ride our bikes at night but afraid of the potholes. Other than that, for us, it's perfect here.

My husband and I travel full time in our RV and we workcamp at a new campground every 6 months. We view every campground from the staff perspective, as well as the guest. I also want to note that the campground appeared to be short staffed while we were there. PROS: •The landscape and lake are beautiful. The campground is set off in a rural area with mature trees, wildlife, and green grass. •All of the staff we encountered were pleasant and welcoming with the exception of one ranger.(Gryphon, Jordan, Laura, and Kelle were wonderful.) •There are many dumpsters throughout the campground. •Although Wi-Fi isn’t offered, we did have cell reception at our site. *If you have starlink, tell the rangers so they can try to give you a site without complete tree coverage. •It was quiet at night. There is a gate that requires a code to enter. We felt safe. •There were weekly activities scheduled for guests. •This campground has two pools and a great play area for children. As well as mini golf and other games. CONS: •When we arrived, laundry room was filthy, with a rotting floor from water damage and dirty walls. *While we were there, the campground closed the laundry room for repairs from 4/16-4/23. Even though they didn’t notify the guests. •Most of the sites have micro trash and limbs that need to be removed. This is likely due to staffing. •I would call this campground “dog tolerant”. There is no dog run or dog park. •The roads throughout the campground are littered with pot holes so I wouldn’t try to come in after dark for the first time. •The two pools definitely need to be cleaned more regularly. Thousand Trails contracts out a lot of their maintenance and it shows it some areas.

We camped beside the lake for a couple of weeks. The weather cooperated and we really enjoyed walking and birdwatching while we were there. Saw some people pulling quite a few fish out of the lake right from the dock. Will have to bring our rods next time.
