What a gem! We had a small cabin and it was just perfect. So clean and cozy. The heater kept the room so nice and warm on the chilly nights we were there. It was so nice to have the tiny kitchen, table, microwave and satellite TV. We even took advantage of the community center to use the internet and play pool. We did have towels and there are sheets on the double bed but not the bunks. We saw both deer and wild pigs roaming around. This is a great base for spending a few days at Pinnacles.

Stayed in Oct/Nov of 2023 We stayed for a week at San Benito and enjoyed our time for multiple reasons. First, there were a ton of kids there that were quick to play with our kids. It was great to see the park, children's room, and pool used consistently by kids. They also had a number of events to attend like Bingo, craft, Lego Party, etc... The pool was open but we did not partake because it was a bit to chilly for us. The playground was decent size, Lodge was fine and well stocked, and the basketball courts were maintained well enough. We did not utilize the bathrooms so I cannot speak on the bathroom or shower quality. The wildlife is something else here. The deer are just as common as the goats heads. It became normal for us to wait for deer to cross or vice versa on our walks. Our feet and dog suffered a bit because of the goatsheads/briars. We had to get booties for our dog and had to wear thick soled tennis shoes the entire time to save our feet. The electric was our only major issue. Our surge protector disconnected us from our pedestal throughout the day. We had a message that a line was reversed and needed to be brought to staff attention. We did just that and were told maintenance would come by to speak with us. We never hear from anyone again after that. I vacillated between a 3 and 4 for the rating. We ultimately decided a 3 because we did not have any follow up from staff after asking for assistance with an electrical issue. Even if the electrical issue couldn't have been fixed but the staff would have connected with us regarding the process, I would have rated higher.

(THOUSAND TRAILS RV SITE #8): We have traveled from Boulder to AZ, NV, CA, and now into OR, and this is our 8th Thousand Trails. While the staff was exceptional and the spaces were gracious, the site is not kept very well, and the entire grounds are like swiss cheese with holes dug by the - granted, very cute - little varmints that live there. The holes occur so often that it's actually dangerous to walk as you can twist an ankle quote easily. With some care it could improve, but it was at the bottom of our Thousand Trails lost so far. We did have a wild pig encounter, though, and that was awesome! (See pic)
