Thousand Trails St. Clair Introduce

Thousand Trails St. Clair, located at 1299 Wadhams Rd, St Clair, MI 48079, and reachable at (810) 329-7129 or +1 810-329-7129, is a notable campground within the Campgrounds & RV Parks category. This campground is celebrated for its strong community feel, making it an inviting destination for families and RV enthusiasts.

One of the standout features of Thousand Trails St. Clair is its welcoming and inclusive atmosphere. Visitors often feel immediately integrated into a tight-knit community, with friendly campers and staff. The campground hosts numerous fun activities every weekend, ensuring there's always something to do. It's particularly praised for being kid-friendly, but also offers a great experience for adults.

The campground's wooded setting creates a natural and immersive camping experience, allowing campers to feel secluded even when the park is crowded, as noted during the Labor Day weekend. This "campground feel" is a significant draw for many visitors. The location also provides convenient access to various historical sites in the area, adding an educational element to the camping experience.

While the campground is generally highly rated, there are a couple of points to consider. The sewage treatment pond occasionally emits a strong odor, which can be noticeable to campers. Some RV spots are also described as being a bit tight, though the campground is considered big rig friendly. However, first time big rig drivers are advised to take it slow. Another point to note is the firewood sold on site, which has been criticized for being wet and not properly cured.

Despite these minor issues, Thousand Trails St. Clair is consistently praised for its overall experience. The community atmosphere, extensive activities, and beautiful wooded setting make it a popular destination. Visitors frequently express their intention to return, highlighting the campground's appeal and positive impact.

In summary, Thousand Trails St. Clair offers a community-focused camping experience with a variety of activities and a pleasant natural environment. It's a great choice for those seeking a social and engaging campground experience, particularly families and RV travelers.

Beautiful park that feels more like a tight knit community that you automatically become a part of just by showing up. People are extremely friendly and have fun activities every weekend! This place is AMAZING for kids, but it just a great for adults. Can’t say enough about this park. Only bad parts were: the sewage treatment pond does give off a pretty pungent odor and some of the RV spot are a little tight. It is big rig friendly, my only advice is take it slow if you not experienced, like myself.

This is one of the better Thousand Trails we have been too. A lot to do here and location allows you to hit some great historical spots. We showed up in time for the Labor Day weekend but even then as crowded as it was the spacing between campers hidden away in the woods makes it seem less so. I love these types of camp grounds where it looks like a Camp Ground, feels like a campground. Only gripe is the Firewood they sell at $8 a pop is worthless. It doesn't burn as it is all quite wet and not properly cured. Other than that?? We will be back. We love this place.

Always a great time. The park has come a long way. Love seeing the new improvements. Kim in the store is always super friendly and the store is always clean. . Sarah is always helpful when needed as well.

Clean restrooms and showers. Beautiful pool. Staff was friendly. Pull-through sites are super close together. They are "buddy sites" where every two campers have their front door facing each other. This is confusing to dogs who assume the whole area belongs to them. My husband was bit by neighbor's dog. The staff handled it well and professionally. The water tastes terrible here. We bought bottled water the whole time. We found things to do, but all in all, this was one of our least favorite campgrounds we've stayed in all year.

We stayed here for a week and were very happy with our experience. Rv site: the site was leveled, spacious and shaded by trees. Most sites seemed that way. Many annual sites but I found them to look tidy and well managed. Amenities: we enjoyed the huge jump pad, pool, playground and games. Great put put course. Areas were clean and well kept. Pool seems old but overall in ok condition. We didn’t use any indoor amenities so no comments on that but the club house looked big with games and toys. There was a food truck on the weekend. Location: We loved St. Clair and the camp is close so very easy to get out and explore town. Nice grocery stores and anything else you might need dear by. Easy. Friday night there was a golf cart parade with SO MANY golf carts driving around all happy and handing out candy. Overall great experience. The only thing I didn’t enjoy were the mosquitos- so many and so aggressive!

Bathrooms were gross, with a “no pooping in shower” sign in the bathhouse. Worse than a gas station bathroom. We didn’t have sewer and stayed 8 days, so we had to use it. Golf was good. Pool looked good, but wasn’t open yet. Basketball was okay. Volleyball looked okay. We had people smoking pot next to us, so joy! Our site was okay, overgrown grass coming through the rock. This could be really nice, but it’s not. We likely won’t stay again here, unless out of necessity. No issues with staff, they were nice. Gated, which is great…except we weren’t given a pin and had to call 4 numbers before someone answered to give us the pin. That was terrible. Close enough to Detroit and Port Huron, so location was fine. Interstate noise, but we expected that. Overall it just needs attention and elbow grease.

Visited some friends at this campground. Pretty nice set up. The have spots for annuals and also open spots. Their rates are pretty reasonable.
