This is a nice TT. It is a large campground and the new RV sites are huge and they have great views! But they were all taken. We stayed in the older part of the campground and it was OK. The old sites could use some clean up, but overall the campground is well kept. The recreational buildings are well kept and really clean. We also like that the Ranger gives you a map with a list of the open campsites when you arrive so you don't have to drive around figuring it out on your own. That makes it much easier finding a spot since they don't assign spots.
After reading news reports, it seems this campground has serious employee problem that has led to a false arrest lawsuit of an innocent camper. The latest report indicated that a Verde Valley security guard filed what appears to be a false report with 911 on a camper that has a lifetime membership instead of forwarding the camper's complaint to management. It appears that a camper had a legitimate complaint and wanted the managers contact info. The guard not only refused, but called 911 as if there was an emergency situation instead of contacting the manager. Are you willing to risk getting arrested over a false claim because the employees aren't willing to do their jobs? I won't. Are you willing to have your RV or camper impounded because an employee isn't willing to do their job? I won't.
We love staying here! We are a Thousand Trails member. The view of Sedona and several Native American ruins is worth the trip. Bring your RV or rent a tiny cabin. Great hiking and friendly staff. No litter anywhere!
It's one of the nicest thousand trails i've been to so far, 10 minutes from cottonwood, 20 minutes to sedona, 15 minutes to indian casino. You can tell the staff really cares about this place. They keep it immaculate, everything about it, love it..
I am a local, and have been referring friends and tourists to the park for years. I always felt they are one of the best. I was shocked to see a youtube video of a guessed having the sheriff's called on him over a service dog?? I reached out to Scott wooley to hear his side of the story and was told by the receptionist " theirs nothing to discuss, everything you need to know is in the video." So without any further information it's hard for me to want to keep recommending this business. There's many great RV Parks in the verde valley. One just across the highway from thousandth trails.
