This place is amazing. The staff is so wonderful and helpful. Our rental car broke down and the staff of the entire park went above and beyond. Even sharing their dinner with us. Carrie, Deborah, and Levi, we are so grateful! Thank you! Plus the cabin was lovely. Cozy and very comfortable. Kindhearted, generous people in a beautiful place, at the gates of Yosemite: all you could wish for when visiting a National Park.

We are new RV owners and wanted our first trip to be close to home in Cedar Ridge/Sonora. Thousands Trails Yosemite Lakes was excellent. Our RV power, water and sewage hookup all worked great. The water is from a water tower so a pressure regulator is a must. We met Levi who works there and you could not ask for a more helpful and friendly person. When he found out we were new RV owners he went out of his way to help us out.

I had high expectations for our first stay at a Thousand Trails RV park. The only thing this one had going for it was location. The roads through the campground are pot holes, the electric pole we originally pulled up to was burned, LOTS of electric poles had closed signs on them so picking a spot was a challenge. Turns out those sites were only closed certain dates the previous week but no one had bothered to take them down. Clearly no one enforces the rule to pick up after your dogs because everywhere I tried to walk mine, there was dog poop. And there was trash in our fire pit and around our site. It IS only 10 minutes outside Yosemite. But to get to the campground on 120 in our Class A while towing was hair-raising and slow. Very mountainous and twisty road for miles. For half the price, maybe. But I would not recommend this campground to anyone with expectations of a nice, well cared for campground.

We had a great time staying here. It was the last weekend that they were open for the season so there wasn’t much to do. I find it strange that you’re not able to have fires, but you could have a charcoal grill. The staff were friendly. The campgrounds were large. I only gave it four stars because you’re not able to book a site, you were only able to book a guaranteed spot. I talked to one of the staff members and they say they are changing it soon. I would definitely stay here again.

Yurt: The hospitality was on point, as the yurt was heated to perfection upon our arrival. The cabin was thoughtfully stocked from the kitchen to the bathroom, and all blankets were clean and folded ready for use. HOWEVER, I say this respectfully because I do understand that making an inviting environment in the middle of nature that stays put allows pests to become established and I’m not sure what measures can be taken to avoid such aside from the use of poisonous preventative sprays… The mattresses on the bunks were completely infested with chiggers and mites. It was very easy to see as we put the crisp white sheets on and they came out a night. I was pretty afraid of getting them in my skin so I doused myself in bug spray and Vaseline to prevent it so I could sleep. I made the bed with the clean bedding provided and then slept in my sleeping bag on too hoping that would keep me protected. By the second night (I had left the sleeping bag on the made bed) when I went to crawl in my sleeping bag it was covered with hundreds of chiggers. I threw it away and obviously had a hard time sleeping at all. I moved to the couch bed and was ok there. So word to the campsites. You need to replace and treat your mattresses. Any white towels we used and left damp to hang in the bathroom also attracted the bright red mites. I usually tent camp and have never had this problem. Again it’s part of making a cozy place that allows them to get established there. I would advise against sleeping on the mattresses and just camp. I’d rather be dirty from dirt and colder then glamp with chiggers.

The facilities are great and staff are friendly and helpful. One thing that should be noted is that they do not allow EV charging. They also do not allow car camping. I suggested they add this information to their site. They were receptive so hopefully they will be more transparent about their policy going forward. That did work with me and my group to accommodate us, but finding this out after spending 7 hours on the road is a bit stressful. Otherwise our stay was great.

We stayed at this campground for two weeks and paid $0 per night as Thousand Trails members. We arrived right before a holiday weekend and were worried the assigned site (58 which is gorgeous and right on the river) would be too loud with all the screaming kids so we requested a site on the hill. Site 259 was perfect for us. It was quiet and our friendly neighbor worked for the campground and had two cute dogs. There is access to the river and there are short hiking trails. FYI: People drive fast on the main road going through the campground. No cell service in campground but we were able to use Starlink. (May-June 2025) Happy Vegan Campers

Staff were friendly but overall campsite cleanliness was severely lacking. The restrooms in the clubhouse and by the office were nice and clean but the showers and restrooms were absolutely filthy. On the map it showed another building of restrooms but we could only find 1 shower block (number 4) and the other one on the map didn't seem to be there anymore. The WiFi was non existent. There was poo all over our site which we then discovered I think was from geese, not dogs. VERY noisey from screaming children and our picnic table was taken by another guest. The water was off a while day whilst we were there and no financial recourse for that. We spent the day at Yosemite which we got to by Yurts bus which was fantastic service and handy although only gave us 4hrs there, which wasn't enough.

Poor campground for the price. The site they booked us for was too small, so that interrupted our arrival by an hour. No cell signal and the campground doesn't broadcast WiFi outside the main office area, so bring your Starlink. HUGE potholes on the far side of the campground that they won't fix. Totally ridiculous. Sites are crammed together so there's no privacy. This would be more tolerable without the other issues. One plus - the staff was friendly and helpful and the location is good. If the other issues were addressed this would be a somewhat decent campground. If you have other options, do it. If not, I've warned you.
