Good horse campground with pipe corrals. Instead of a locking gate they have chains that you hook on to the panel. Beautiful trails right from the campground. Spots can be a little tricky to back into.
A nice open area to enjoy a view of the Tam McArthur Rim from below, or to begin a hike along the East Fork, Metolius/Windigo, or Park Meadow Trail systems.
Gorgeous setting, but a little rustic. So it is quiet even on a busy weekend in July
We camped here for only one night with our four kids under the age of 6. Sites are large and clean, the host does a great job keeping the bathrooms clean. There are lots of little creeks running along the meadow that were surprising not too cold. We fished at the lake not too far way and caught one! There is NO drinking water or cell service.
The horse camp was a little hard to find, for the sine was set back off the main road behind some trees...... The camp hosts was amazing woman very nice and helpful.. The lake was a nice place to just hang out... I did not to get to go on any trail rides for my horse got hurt... I as well was not feeling good.... So planning another trip in a month.....
