Location is good. Lil bit of walk to the main area.... Clean rooms. Clean pools indoor and outside. They have a polyesian show. Unfortunately no one could confirm if they could do any gluten-free food so I couldn't go to it. They actually looked at me like I had five heads. It made me feel really weird about my allergy... I must say again rooms were clean freshly painted... The only thing that was awful about the rooms was the beds. Even my teenage sons were complaining about it.... So I most likely would not be staying back at this hotel.
Luau was a disaster. The food was horrible, it was the end of the season so there wasn't any performers available to do the show so the remaining 3 entertainers tried to do their best to put on the show, his 2 nieces and their mother filled in as hula dancers. I feel bad for the man that presented the show and did the fire show, it is not as advertised and very disappointing. Not worth the $200 for my husband and I to see the show. The room smelled like garbage and breakfast was a challenge due to the waiter not understanding English well enough. We will not stay here again or recommend it to anyone. This whole experience was overpriced and extremely disappointing. Save your money and sanity and go to a different hotel. Wish I could give this place a negative star. Beware
Review I have been going on vacation at Lake George for 17 years now, and I have stayed in many hotels. This one was one of my favorite hotels to stay at due to the 70s ambiance and environment. (Older vibe for sure!) Very pretty hotel with nice decorations. The lobby, bar, and main building was very nice and clean. Our room was very nice and clean and it was very cute. It fit our family of 4. Although there were some things that definitely made this a budget hotel. Many of the staff members were nice but a few of them would completely ignore you when you try to ask for something (litterally walk right by you) and the hallways of the poolside rooms were very dirty. So many housekeepers/maids yet not a single one could clean the garbage cans (they were nasty!) and the staircase had a chips on the ground that did not move the entire stay (was there since we got there). Sometimes it’s the little things that really do make a difference. Lastly, the pool areas (both indoor and outdoor) were very nice and kept clean. BUT, the outdoor pool closes at 9pm and has really pretty lights and a really nice vibe we would have LOVED if it was open till 10pm just because Lake George has fireworks at 9:30pm that are able to be seen from the hotel pool. But I understand safety hazards could be a reason. Most definitely will come back here again, but hoping the outdoor pool could be open till 10pm. It would make this place my favorite stay.
We stayed here for 1 night on a road trip to Maine. Building and “suite” was absolutely disgusting. As soon as we entered the building where our “suite” was, we were overwhelmed by the smell of mold and mildew and everything looked filthy. The room was just as bad. The bathroom door in our room was so swollen from moisture that it wouldn’t even come close to closing, and it was severely damaged from years of guests trying to slam it shut. The bathroom exhaust fan sounded like a jet engine trying to rip itself apart, and it didn’t remove any steam while showering. The shower did seem to be new and updated. The laminate wood floor in the room was swollen and buckling so bad there were areas with massive bubbles that would sink and flex when you stepped on them. Everything else in the room just looked run down and dirty. I checked the beds for bugs like 3 times because I felt so uncomfortable, and I refused to take my shoes off in the room. I thought maybe they had just kept the tacky 70’s theme and it would be a fun stop with a little Americana, but it seems more like they hadn’t had anyone come into the rooms to clean or repair in 40 years.
We enjoyed our stay here. The rooms smelled a bit musty and the hallways as well but the rooms were spacious and the outdoor area was fabulous. We enjoyed the pools, bbq space, and outdoor firepit in the lounge area. A very chill and relaxed vibe.
