Timber Creek Campground is situated close to the busy US Highway 10, which brings both convenience and some challenges. Vault toilets are available on-site for privacy.- **Water Access:** Water pumps are provided, but visitors should bring their own water containers due to the lack of hookups.- **Recreational Opportunities:** Direct access to hiking trails offers a wealth of outdoor activities, while nearby streams provide fishing opportunities.- **Proximity to Services:** Within 2.5 miles lies a local store offering basic groceries and camping supplies.

**Characteristics & Environment:** The campground's environment is characterized by its close proximity to nature and the North Country Trail. The area is known for its diverse wildlife and scenic beauty, making it a haven for photographers and nature lovers. However, visitors should be prepared for seasonal weather variations, as heavy storms can impact the area, though the campground staff works diligently to maintain facilities post-disasters.

**Customer Feedback:** Reviewers highlight both the strengths and challenges of staying at Timber Creek Campground. Positive feedback includes its convenient location, ample amenities, and access to trails. Many appreciate the large sites that accommodate families and groups comfortably. I liked it because it gives access to the North Country Trail. Nice sites with picnic tables, grills and fire rings. There is water available (pump). The problem is the CG is on a very busy main highway with lots of tractor trailer traffic. There is no peace and quiet to be found as semis and car after car go flying by all day from about 4:30am until late at night. I stayed one night of a planned 3 night stay because of the noise. There are plenty of other USFS campgrounds to chose from throughout the Manistee NF.

For my purposes this campground was almost perfect. The sites are generally quite large. There are shady and sunny sites, trail access right from the campground, water and two vault toilets. Sites have grill, fire pit, and table. It's 2.5 miles to the closest store .They have ice, cold drinks, some groceries and camp goods. This is a central location for exploring the area. It is about 300 yards North off 10. As with most things, there are trade offs. There is alot of weekend traffic noise at most of the sites. The trails get misused by dirt bikes, which are prohibited, but my first weekend over 50 guys (yes, I started counting) rode through the campground. Not the fault of the campground but it can be an issue. There is a small creek with two bridges in the campground. Well...there was a huge storm. Hail, lightning, torrential rain. The creek went up about 6 feet! Water came within 4 feet of my tent, and both bridges were under water. Why do my vacations always become adventures? Because the Forest Service comes through almost daily, by the time the water was down, graders and gravel trucks were there fixing the roads. I have to love those folks, you just can't ask for more. So for peace and quiet, this is not the place. However you might camp here to find your perfect place due to it's central location. Being an antique, this works great as a base camp for me. 2021, Last 2 weeks of July. Campground was busy on the weekends. During the week mostly vacant. It was very hot this year. I barely got the tent up before a storm hit. The worst of it actually missed. Yea! Day 2: I got camp set up properly. Lots of folks from waterless campgrounds were using the pump this year. This year's adventure, Gypsy Moths were everywhere. See photo of tent. I made sure to remove the eggs before packing up. I used a sponge with soapy water and a plastic 'store card' to remove them. I wanted to be sure to not transport Gypsy Moths home.

Great remote campground, 9 sites first come, water pump, vault toilets and right on the NCT. Only drawbacks you can hear road traffic and VERY limited cell service. We stayed 3 nights and enjoyed hiking the NCT. Not to far from Luddington if you want to eat out.

Quiet usfs campground. Also has a hiking/ biking trailhead at the site as well. Very rustic, no electricity, no showers has unisex vault toilets. Does have firepits and charcoal grills at each site. Been coming here for almost 20 years.

Great camping area, there is a trailer head here that many ATV users would start from. Plenty of area to throw a football or use for extra parking. This area is lightly used but is first come first serve.. Hope you enjoy it as much as we do.. Please be kind and pickup your trash when you leave.....

Scenic place to do primitive camping (pit hole toilets, well water with hand pump, no showers, no electricity). Nice that it is along the North Country Trail. It is a little too close to the highway unfortunately and that disturbs the quiet but it is a nice cheap place to camp.
