Timber Ridge RV & Recreation Resort

Cabins are really nice with everything you need; fire pit, bbq, dishes to cook and eat, couple outdoor rocking chairs, picnic table. Its a peaceful beautiful area with tons of things to do. Great for the kiddos as well.

We love Timber Ridge and vacation there every year. I had first-hand knowledge and interaction with the author of the 1 star review below in regards to the incident she complains of. I feel compelled to shed some light and truth. Our children were minding their own business when her child was upset that our children were building a bike ramp. He threatened our children that he would go back to his camp and return and inflict great bodily harm, hardly a "stupid threat" as she mentioned - I'll spare those details. Her child then attempted to bite one of our children, at which time they pushed him away. Her child and his friend later admitted this problematic behavior. Our children immediately retreated to us and we reported it to management who took the situation very seriously. We were open to working things out as parents but after meeting with her, listening to her make excuses why this behavior was ok, telling us she's had the same problems with her child making threats at school, confirming her child had access to weapons at their camp and realizing she had no intentions of preventing another instance, we decided to request that the campground follow their no tolerance policy, which they did. You can see in her review that she continues to make excuses such as "when he had no intention of hurting these children" and "I'm pretty sure my child won't be dumb enough to admit wrongdoing or apologize ever again." In the end the proper decision was made and we enjoyed another great vacation!

Overall a nice park, just a bit too busy for my liking. Seems generally well run, but more could be done to ensure the experience is positive for all. Probably just our bad luck that all 5 days we were there the campers directly across had two aggressive dogs on very long leads that barked and charged at passers-by all day long completely unchecked by their owners. I get that rude, inconsiderate people can be encountered anywhere, but it would have been nice if the park staff would have intervened at any point, but seemingly that never happened. Quiet hours also were not well respected and again I saw no response from staff. We have stayed at parks where the rules are enforced too rigidly but this one is a bit lax, a tough balance to hit admittedly but in this case it affected the quality of our stay. Not a bad park by any means but I probably would not return.

Great campground, nice staff, lots of fun things to do, especially for children. If you're looking for a quiet, romantic camping spot, this probably isn't it; but if you want somewhere fun to bring kids, this is the place. Staff are great, camp store has everything you need, and the campsites are well laid out. The swimming lake is awesome.

Awesome place for families! The only complaint we had was that the bathrooms could've used a little more upkeep during the busy holiday weekend. The site sizes are great. There are lots of things to do that are included in the stay and then a few things you can pay extra for. We just did the stuff that was included and still had enough to do that all 4 days/3 nights we spent in the campground and didn't go anywhere else. We will definitely visit again!
