Timberline Glamping at Hillsborough River

A Perfect Family Glamping Getaway! Our family just had the most incredible glamping experience, and we’re already planning our next trip back! With two kids in tow, we were looking for something that blended adventure with comfort, and this spot delivered in every way. The bunk beds were a huge hit with the kids—they loved having their own space to crash after a day full of exploring. The nearby trails were perfect and easy for the whole family. Evenings were our favorite part—grilling dinner while watching the sunset, followed by the ultimate camping treat: s’mores! Sitting around the fire, laughing, and telling stories. If you’re looking for a glamping spot that’s both family-friendly and packed with fun, this is the place. It gave us the best of both worlds—nature, adventure, and just the right amount of comfort. We can’t wait to go back!

My husband and I had such a great time at Timberline Glamping. We stayed on a Friday night with our 2 dogs, and everything was so perfect. The instructions you get prior to check-in make everything very seamless. All campsites were occupied on our stay and everyone seemed to really enjoy the space, and other guests were so friendly. We loved having a fire, and sat outside for hours just enjoying the space and company. Restrooms are very close and clean, everyone was respectful of space, and sound, etc. The only bummer for us was that it rained early the next day so we didn't get to hike much, but we'll come back during normal park hours! Definitely recommend this as a staycation in Tampa!

Our family had a great glamping experience at the Hillsborough Timberline location. The safari tent was perfect for me and my daughter to share. My parents booked the tent right next to us and they were very happy with their site as well. The bed was comfy.and the A/C was no joke. Not just a window shaker unit but a mounted split unit AC that was more than adequate for the relatively small tent. The state park has lots to explore. We rented bikes and kayaks to explore the river. There are also quite a few hiking trails, you will need some DEET for them if it's been raining. The suspension bridge is also a must see.

Wow! Such a fun and relaxing time!! The tents are amazing and the surrounding grounds are exceptionally nice. Everything you need to make it a great coming experience with your loved ones. It’s definitely glamorous camping with the comfy beds and heat/a/unit and mini refrigerator. Your site has your own “side gravel yard” with fire pit, picnic table and grill- water hose too!! Rent the fold up rocking chairs for around the fire or bring your own. We were lucky to have the in our backyard at Johnathan state park!!! Great way to escape the world for a night or two. Must do!!!

I loved this experience! We had a lovely tent with two queen beds, great A/C since our tent was in the sun all day, Keurig coffee for the mornings. What a beautiful place to have coffee. Found it very useful our glampsite came with a picnic table, Weber grill, fire pit & chairs. Plenty of areas and trails to walk and fish. Absolutely recommend 100%. I will be back as soon as I can make it happen.

From the cozy setup to the peaceful surroundings, everything was just perfect. We laughed, relaxed, explored, and made memories that we’ll cherish forever. It was one of those rare trips where everyone was happy, and time felt like it slowed down just enough for us to really enjoy each other’s company. We’ve already decided this will become a yearly tradition. Thank you for giving us such a special experience — we can’t wait to come back!

Wonderful place to enjoy family and friends without having to carry a carload of camping gear. We are enjoying it in March and July. The children had so much fun the want to live here all the time.

The dirt roads can use a little work but otherwise this is a beautiful location. Did not use a room (camper).
