Big fan. Feels remote but close to everything. Primitive camping loop (Dogwood) is well maintained, clean, accessible, and decent cell coverage. Favorite spot is 30. Camp hosts go out of their way to make you feel welcome and ensure a good stay.
Nature lovers rejoice! Large sites tucked into forest land. Herds of deer, beautiful box turtles (drive slow) and more bird species than you can name. Staff are friendly and quick to deliver ice and wood. Only snafu was bathrooms closed, 4 of 7 days and showers closed 7 days during my stay. Supposed painter issue. Communication was poor but that is on the management company FINE. Beautiful place for peace and quiet and being in nature. Really hard to find places like this anymore.
Bathroom and shower house was really clean. Camp host was kind of a rip.
Site is fantastic. Clean, quiet, with great amenities. Shower houses are probably the nicest and cleanest I've seen it in the National Forest service property outside of a hotel. Lake is a little weedy and you're going to want to shower off afterwards but luckily they have beachside showers. Did not get to explore the trails thoroughly but they seemed well maintained.
Beautiful, moderate loop with lake views. We did run into a couple of uncontained Great Pyrenees that caused us to turn around at the far southwest end of the lake so we didn't make it to the beachside of the lake. We were hiking with our dogs and didn't want to risk an interaction.
