Had a wonderful experience with my family. Everyone was so helpful and courteous. Will be visiting often! Love the view!
My boyfriend and i went camping here for a few days. It’s a nice campground with an easy walk to the beach on the lake. It was quiet for the most park except for the occasional loud and upset child. The rangers patrol the area to make sure that everything is running smoothly (which we appreciated). You are required to keep any food / hygiene items in the bear box . There are black bears in the area and it’s important to keep these items out of the bears’ access.
Campground and facilities are nice enough. Good access to the reservoir. Staff are pleasant. But if you are looking to have a quiet night camping, this ain't it. The campground seems to attract large groups of folks interested in partying and not following the rules regarding noise/quiet hours and food storage. Since there are black bears active in the area (we saw two), following the food storage rules is very important. There is not much privacy between the sites so you are at the mercy of whoever you happen to be next to. Unfortunately there were a number of groups who didn't care that their actions were spoiling the experience for everyone else.
The ratio of riff-raff VS park rangers/STATE POLICE has gotten better since COVID, but remains out of control and not a peaceful camping trip. Rules are for ALL Campers. And apply to EVERYONE this post was taken at 1am... AND THEY HAD A GENERATOR RUNNING
Noisy drunk people who are loud all night long with no regard for other campers. Site are not cleaned between stays, so bring a rake so you can pick up trash/bottle caps/wrappers from the previous camper. Shower drains were clogged and disgusting with standing water. Boat motors on the lake start very early in the morning (don't these people sleep after staying up all night?), so don't expect to get any sleepy time past 6:30 or 7:00AM. Go elsewhere.
