One of the standout features of Trail Creek is its proximity to the Rio Grande River. The area also offers numerous trails for hiking and exploring, allowing visitors to immerse themselves in the breathtaking scenery of the Colorado mountains.
While Trail Creek provides a primitive camping experience, it is essential to note that facilities are limited. There is only one drop toilet available, which is quite old and small. Campers should come prepared with all necessary supplies, including water and waste disposal options. The roads leading to the campsite are known for being rutted and pot-holed, requiring vehicles with high clearance. Customer Reviews
Nice little walk in sites, road noise from the co road. Very difficult getting to the river from here as its on a hill overlooking the valley. 1 very old and small drop toilet. No car camping.
Road is pretty rutted and pot holed. High clearance on tow vehicle and trailer recommended. Goes far down stream for many sites.
This was exactly what I was looking for: beautiful, great tent space, a fire ring, and a gorgeous environment--and free!
Fantastic dispersed camping area. No amenities, and a rough road make access somewhat difficult. Beautiful aspens all around.
Not allowing camp fires anymore really sucks. No fire ban and still no camp fires. Don't know if it's a permanent thing but the signs appear it will be permanent.
