Everything we needed for our one night stay on our way to our final destination: clean room, comfortable bed, clean bathroom, continental breakfast. Situated right off the highway and next to restaurants and gas stations. Easy in, easy out. And the gentleman at the desk was professional and courteous.
Returning home after Thanksgiving vacation, traffic was so heavy, that it added almost 3 hours to an 11-1/2 hour drive. I had to stop to give my cats a break & get some sleep. My husband had stayed in Florida for business, so I asked him to book an inexpensive room through Priceline, that would allow me to stay with my cats. Upon check-in to the “pet friendly” TravelLodge, I was informed there would be a $15/pet/night charge, which had not been stated on Priceline. I couldn’t justify paying almost double for a 6 hour stay, so decided I’d leave the cats in the truck, take a quick nap & get back on the road in 2-3 hours. When I entered the room I was dismayed to see how run down and dirty it was. The bed appeared fairly clean, but the floor, curtains & walls were so nasty, that I knew the bedspread probably had not been washed any time recently, so I removed it completely from the bed. As I brushed my teeth & prepared for bed, I couldn’t help but notice stains everywhere that made me wish I’d kept driving. Since I was exhausted & it was very cold outside, I decided to bring the cats in to sleep. They sleep with me and were exhausted from the stress of traveling, so they settled in and went to sleep almost immediately, once they did a perimeter check. Had the room been clean and inviting, I would have paid the $45 extra for my very clean cats to stay, because I am a rule abiding person. However, since the room was disgustingly dirty, I wasn’t about to pay extra. If the room hadn’t been prepaid, I would have left without staying. Actually, I wouldn’t stay there again, if the owner offered to pay me to! The cats slept well, but I did not. I tossed and turned from 12 AM until just after 4 AM & decided to get back on the road. This particular TravelLodge should be torn down or COMPLETELY gutted and remodeled. I would not want my parents, kids or friends to ever stay in a place that bad.
Property was scary. Noise outside all night long. No toilet paper or tissues in the room. Tub was filthy. House keeping didn’t do their job. Was afraid to sleep on the sheets. I was too tired to go somewhere else. Never staying at a Wyndham property again.
We have stayed here multiple times It's cheap and clean with cold air and fluffy blankets we overslept and didn't make it to the breakfast so not sure about that the pool was out of order, the beds are firm but we slept well no frills and no fancy stuff free wifi tho and small pet friendly
The owner management staff knocks on the door several times. Confusing at the desk when checking in about what card to use to pay the pet fee. The pool was not opened as advertised. It seems as if the owners are a family that all live in the rooms of the hotel. The back of the hotel they have a group if people that live on the property permanently. If you like golf there is a golf course behind the hotel. Nice Mexican restaurant across the street and a big Dollar General all walking distance. Next door is a steakhouse with mostly fried basket type meals. They allow your dog in the restaurant. Convenience of I95 right by the hotel.
